I have been a regular shopper at this store/small outlet center (3 stores in 1 building) for a little over 5 years now. I LOVE THIS OUTLET. Another person wrote you can get lost for hours in there, and I have literally done that. That being said, there have been a few times (very few) where it has been hit or miss, and I was there a VERY short time, but it was highly unusual. I can only think of one time where I bought nothing.
A lot of times have unintentionally bought a whole cart full of items, when I was only going there for a lamp for example. They did unfortunately change their return policy from 10 days to "all sales final" except for a very few particular types of items. But, it was so rare for me to get "buyers remorse" I can only think of 1 time where I returned something. But, I do still wish there was that 10 days, just for in the back of my mind I had that "wiggle" room if I got something home and size wise or color wise I was wrong.
The items at Frontgate are beautiful, classic, and timeless. They do have a few "contemporary" items scattered in as well (just as high end pieces as their other conservative pieces). There are some damaged items, however, we even bought a $1000 mosaic outdoor coffee table for like $179 and repaired it ourselves.
Yes, you can find some deals and steals here. HOWEVER, if people are going to look at the catalog, come there, and think they are going to get "something for nothing" then this is not the store for you. I am directing this to the "complainer's reviews" that this store is too expensive. I think the pricing is phenomenal for the items you get at the outlet. Again, if you think it is still "overpriced" then you should not be shopping there in the first place. Compare outlet pricing to actual catalog pricing and you will see what a deal it is.
A big splurge we did was on a Christmas item in a previous catalog of a cigar lighter they had in there for $899, that we bought for $179 plus tax. Expensive for a lighter - hell yes! But it was a work of art. I did still feel a little twinge of guilt, but kept telling myself it was a really good deal, and over in Europe they sold the same lighter for hundreds and hundreds of dollars as well. - Again, if you read this and this paragraph looks outrageous to you, then you should not be shopping there because THAT WAS A HUGE DEAL/STEAL.
I'm not saying that even me, myself, would purchase everything in the store, because even some of their items are out of my price point. But it is still fun to go and look at the gorgeous pieces and come up with decorating ideas.
The staff there is phenomenal and very hard working/attentive and bend over backwards to help you. They are constantly helping customers and moving items around, and it must be an INSANELY stressful job, so I can understand if a time or two they might not have on their "happy" face. Not to mention, moving VERY heavy pieces/furniture items. But, I can tell you this, they do stick there as employees because I see the same faces time and time again, and try to learn some of their names (even though I am terrible at it.)
I am VERY THANKFUL this catalog started in Cincinnati, and that we have this outlet in our area! (As they have very few...
Read moreAvoid this store at all costs. They use bait and switch tactics. There was a very large sign that said all outdoor furniture is 50% off. After driving over an hour to buy am outdoor furniture set I was told this one piece was not on Sale. After asking why I was told it was brand new. Why would there be a single new item at an OUTLET store? Outlet stores are for returns and overstock. Highly discourage buying anything from this store. You're much better buying items direct online with free shipping. Store manager was a complete waste of time. The item was actually cheaper online at the standard Frontgate store. His answer was they would match the website. So now even further lying to customers by offering a sale that does not apply to items listed as such AND charging more then the main website which includes free shipping. Avoid...
Read moreOnce a premier shopping venue is now nothing but poor craftsmanship and quality at luxury prices. Customer service remains excellent but the products are now cheap and simply not the quality for the price Frontgate demands. For over 15 years we have used Frontgate for our bath and some household accents to include once was the best made door mat bar none on the market. Now it is so lightweight it blows in the wind and sheds like a Siberian Husky! The resort towels pilling terrible even after over a month of washing and drying. The final straw was the beverage dispenser that had a safety sticker on the front just above the dispensing nozzle that left the plastic marred when being removed. Contacted Frontgate regarding this and they simply...
