My husband and I went to Saigon noodle bar for the third time tonight and the customer service that was recieved was beyond poor. We walked in and waited for a bit to be seated. They weren't very busy only 5 tables had someone at them. After finally being seated we waited a while before our order was taken. After our order was taken the lady brought us water and again we wait after about 15 minutes we were brought the banh mi that we ordered. We were then brought our spring rolls. We'll that is where the problems started we were brought the wrong spring roll. We ordered the grilled pork spring roll and we were brought shrimp spring rolls. I am allergic to shellfish so it was instantly sent back. After this we were brought our Pho and this is where we were left speechless. The lady walked away I tasted my pho and I knew it needed a lot more flavor. I put the hoisin sauce and Sriracha (that is given to have with Pho) in the pho. She walked back and looked down and told me I was killing it. I thought this must of been a joke and just chuckled and the she proceeded to tell my husband (who is vietnamese) that we were eating the pho wrong. She then told us how we should eat our dinner. We both were absolutely stunned. My husband tried speaking up and saying that he has eaten pho all of his life and she looked at him and walked away. This was absolutely disrespectful. I am not sure why she thought that it was necessary to inform us how we should eat the dinner that we were paying for. I don't know of she was upset that her waitress messed up our order. I am not sure if it was out of spite because we are a gay couple. Whatever the reasoning was it should of never been said. Here is.my advice for the restaurant and to this lady. Instead of worrying about how someone eats dinner maybe you should focus on getting food out quicker, work on flavor because all of the food we had was flavorless, and work on getting more than 5 tables worth of people of people into your restaurant at prime hours on a...
Read moreMy family and I were here around 1:30pm on the 24th of October. There was a 20 minute wait time which was absolutely fine and normal. Servers seemed very nice and there was nothing wrong with them.
While we were waiting for our meals, everything seemed great until I saw a cook (middle aged man) smoking a cigarette in the kitchen.
I think there is a back door in the kitchen that he can easily go out. I saw him started smoking a cigarette inside and went out the door. After he came back, he just immediately got back to work and touched vegetable and meats without washing his hands. None of his actions were acceptable, and it was unhygienic and was just a consumer fraud.
So, we decided to cancel our orders and leave. Luckily, my family didn’t eat anything, and our nice server didn’t charge us even if my wife opened her canned Sprite.
The cook must be an owner because he can’t behave like that in this 2021 if he was an employee.
I understand that eating-out can’t be cleaner than home meal. Vietnamese pho is bar far my favorite food and we were so happy that we found a great rated restaurant in this area. We even came here from 30 miles away because of the great ratings.
We will never come back. Again, there was nothing wrong with...
Read moreI visited for the first time and picked up food for the family. I will say that I have had quite a bit of Pho and Vietnamese food in the surrounding area and I do have my favorite places in Dayton (Pho Mi) and West Chester (Pho96). So I had hopes that this would be yet another place to go.
Service: Everyone was nice and pleasant. My order was ready for me, it just needed to go in the bag.
Portion: The portions were small when compared to other places. The regular Pho size here is the equivalent to a kid size at other locations like Pho96. I have attached an image of the Pork Bahn Mi. Definitely not enough meat for $7.
Quality: The pho was ok but the broth just did not compare to some of my favs. The chicken pho had the chicken already in the broth vs shredded and in the veggie container. This makes the chicken a little tough and overcooked. The spicy beef pho was not spicy at all. It did have a good taste, but it just did not compare to some of the other place I have been. The bahn mi sandwich was pretty good. It needed more meat BUT the bread...
