Market Street Hardware — Attraction in West Chester

I arrived at 5:45pm on 9/18/2024 I came straight from work (Chester county hospital) because I saw online how the store closes at 6pm, so I figured I better hurry before they close. When I arrived I was greeted at the door right away by this kid named Jared. He made me feel so welcomed and was super friendly in helping me with my problem. The reason I even stopped in because I needed some screws for my bike kick stand. Nothing major, we needed an Allen wrench to take apart the one screw that was really lodged in there, just as he’s trying to help the lights go off on me, I ask him if there closed and he said no I can help you with this kickstand, with his reassurance I continued watching him struggle to get this screw out, just than this lady walks up to us holding her purse and looking at me like I had 48 heads! It wasn’t until he said hold on “Mom” that I knew she worked there I asked again I’m sorry what time do you close? She replied rudely 6pm I looked at my phone and it was now 5:56 no offense but it wasn’t even close to 6 when she cut the lights off on me to begin with. The fact that was ready to walk out the door exactly at 6 almost tells me your packed up and cash deposited and counted before 5:45pm- how can your store hours say OPEN TO 6 when she’s ready to leave at 5:45? Jared couldn’t help me with my problem because the woman by the name of Julie? Told him to hurry up, as a customer I’m not happy with this experience at all in fact if it wasn’t for Jared I wouldn’t even come back to this place. I figured I’d reach out and let someone know how can you keep a business flowing if your running away...

I can’t recommend a better place to go. I went there with my 1 and 3 year olds. We were greeted upon entering the store and asked if they could help us with anything. The sales associate helped me find a random piece of hardware (6mm coupling nut). As we were leaving an epic rainstorm had started so we decided to wait for a break in the rain. The sales associate saw the kids were getting Ornery after a while (lunchtime!) and asked if she could help me get them to the car. Excellent staff they’re very welcoming from front end cashier to other all staff they always help me locate what I need and they even help load it in my vehicle —it’s a pleasure doing business with a local shop and their screen repair person is excellent , I know because I’ve used them multiple times well worth the cost and wait! I’d rather pay more to support a local business that drive further away to support a large corporation... thanks
