I do not recommend this place at all.
The customer service is absolutely horrible. This is my second time dealing with them after a less-than-desirable first experience. I decided to give them another chance because I like supporting small, family-owned businesses, but this was a mistake.
I purchased a bag of soil from them, and when I opened it, I found it was moldy. I called to explain the situation, and the man I spoke to, Joe, told me they don’t usually do refunds or returns but would make an exception “because I sound like a good person.” Which I am. We agreed that I would come in to exchange the bag.
I came back on Monday as agreed, only to find the store closed. Frustrated, I left. I returned another day before 4 p.m. (their listed closing time) and found them locking up early. I explained the situation to the woman there, and she rudely informed me that they close at 3:45 p.m., even though they have 4 p.m. listed as their closing time.
I wasn’t even asking for a refund—just something as simple as swapping the moldy bag of soil for a new one. Instead, I was met with rude and unhelpful behavior. To make matters worse, their plants don’t even look healthy.
I waited to post this review until after Thanksgiving, hoping I could call and resolve the issue. When I did, I spoke to the most unprofessional and disrespectful man. I explained what Joe had agreed to, but instead of listening, he accused me of trying to argue with him. He then told me he didn’t care that I got moldy soil and to just throw it away. When I continued explaining my side, he hung up on me.
This is literally the worst, most unprofessional family I have ever dealt with. Not only are their products questionable (moldy soil and sad-looking plants), but their attitude toward customers is unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and shop at any of the other plant stores in Chicago. You’ll find better products, better plants, and far better customer...

Came in here today looking for a pot. The staff I passed by were super friendly going Above and beyond helping the customers they were working with. For that reason I’m Giving three stars and not Solely rating based on my experience. This store is small but always has a good selection of the times I’ve come here before to browse for plants and they have beautiful plants. In this social distancing era I found it very challenging to navigate and everyone was definitely closer than 6 feet it was just impossible to maintain a distance. On top of that when I went to check out I asked the employee ringing me up where the plastic saucers were, not sure if they are called saucers but just wanted something to put underneath the pot to catch the water. I had gone up there with a ceramic one just in case they didn’t have it and he asked me what was wrong with the ceramic one and I responded I didn’t want that one. As I was figuring out a way to turn around with my child in his stroller he told me to make sure to take my kid with me obviously I was not going to leave my kid there at the register. Anyway I went I got the plastic saucer and returned only to find out that of course I had gotten one a touch too small. He proceeded to then say that that’s what happens when you don’t want to pay. Seriously? I Don’t have to justify my reasons and that’s just rude. I will be taking my business somewhere else. Will probably end up spending more money but I will not be returning to the store. Difficult to navigate and not...

I visited this place on a Saturday and was initially very impressed. They have a fantastic selection of plants—everything from annuals and perennials to indoor plants and vegetables. Basically, anything you could want for your garden or home.
While I was a bit unsure about what to purchase, a very kind lady helped me out. I mentioned my concern about possibly buying too many plants, and she reassured me that if something didn’t work out, I could return them. That gave me the confidence to go ahead with a larger purchase.
However, when I called on Tuesday (they’re closed on Mondays) to inquire about a return, I was told by a gentleman that there is no return policy on live plants. I explained the situation and what I had been told in-store. He then oddly asked me how old the woman was who helped me, and when I gave my best guess, he told me there was no one there fitting that description.
I tried to make it clear that I only made such a large purchase because I believed returns were an option. Unfortunately, he was completely unwilling to make any exception or offer a solution.
As great as their selection is, I won’t be returning—and I won’t be recommending them to others either. At least the orange and blue big box stores accept returns. The inconsistency in information and lack of customer service are disappointing and infuriating. I’m now out...
