Brown Brothers Tattoo — Local services in West Chicago Township

My partner and I were in Chicago for an anniversary trip and we were looking for a place to walk in and get some flash tattoos and these guys did a FANTASTIC job. They were so welcoming, kind, and easy to work with. Wasn’t my first time getting a tattoo, but it was my partner’s and they were awesome with him. He’s pretty introverted, but they had him opening up and cracking jokes like he does with me and his closest friends. We both picked some flash art from Erin, who has a really cool and fun selection of flash. Erin did my tattoo and Max did my partner’s. They both came out phenomenal. Erin is incredibly quick and steady-handed. She was done with my piece before I knew it and it came out so well. Both of our pieces came out so sharp and pigmented and I can just tell that they’ll heal wonderfully with proper aftercare.

TL;DR They are a wonderful, welcoming, and funny bunch of people who make you feel like you’re part of the gang. Awesome growing shop that deserves more growth. This shop is worth an out-of-state visit on its own and we hope to do just that and come back and see the new...

In short, BB is full of friendly, talented tattooers (and staff) sharing a fun little space. I was a bit silly to not remember how busy things can get at a shop on Friday the 13th, and the shop was definitely busy. Despite the craziness, the (probably exhausting) amount of extra work going on, the wait, and the limited selection of flash for this particular day (all par for the course on such a day), I came home feeling great about my work. First, I was still able to find a piece that spoke to me. Most importantly, though, I found Paul 'Frog' Murphy to be a humble, personable, efficient, and skillful tattooer, and there's no question that I'll be back to see him and the other crew at BB for some more work very soon!...

I had an appointment with Erin and she was great. Her communication and customer service are top notch. The whole shop seems to be full of good artists and nice people.

UPDATE: Since my first review I have become a bit of a repeat customer. My review was for the 3rd tattoo I ever had. Now I am up to ten, eight of which have been done at Brown Brothers. Personally, I go to Erin and Oliver but all their artists are fantastic. My wife, younger brother and our friends have all gone to them now as well. They just opened at their new location a few doors down from where they were, and it is a fantastic spot.
