Anytime Fitness — Attraction in West Chicago Township

Make sure to receive a copy of the contract immediately after you’ve signed it!! I asked for the cheapest option as I am a student, and now I’m stuck paying over $700 in total for the next 18 months until my contract expires. After signing my contract, a representative at Anytime Fitness told me I would receive a copy of it via email. However, I didn’t receive a copy of it (and I made sure to check my spam box) until after I decided to cancel my membership four days later for financial reasons. I was unable to cancel my membership, however, because there is a strict clause in the contract’s cancellation policy stating that there is a mere three-day window of cancellation. I did not realize this was the case since I never received a copy of the contract. Anytime Fitness was entirely unaccommodating and refused to let me cancel a membership whose window of cancellation I had missed by one day – a window I was unaware of until that fourth day!

This is a very upsetting example of large corporations taking advantage of their customers. It is unbelievable and disconcerting that even in 2017 large companies have such stringent cancellation policies for long-term contracts. Be careful before signing a long-term contract with...

Garbage cancellation policy. Apparently they are the only company in 2018 that can't just hit a button to stop my membership. Absolutely terrible. You have to write a letter....again...in 2018... not an email, not a phone call (of which I tried both) to cancel the membership 30 days from the time they receive it. This is a complete scam and a joke. I haven't gone in months and I've been getting charged, that's on me...but then they want to charge me the semi annual fee AND my monthly membership fee in the time it takes to get the letter...which is not 30 days. So let's run through this for those in the back that didn't hear it.

Call Anytime, referred to their billing company because I"m unable to get their during normal business due to my work.

If you've ever been to a gym you know that most gyms aren't clean or aren't well kept by the staff or the members. This is one of the many gyms i train at and this is only one where its safe to use the shower, toilet, and equipment without thinking "is this clean?". It smells fresh soon as you walk in! Ive been here for 4 years now and i've never had a problem with equipment being broken and not repaired or having to deal with rude or inconsiderate people yelling and screaming like crazy and then dont re rack the weights or wipe the stuff down. Through the years i've even asked management to acquire new equipment as my bodybuilding goals changed and the intensity of my training followed. Management is friendly and will take the time out to assist you in any way they can. I greatly appreciate this 24h gym as it feels like a comfortable home gym.
