Well unless you are lucky enough (?) to work at the paper mill by the falls it's difficult to see them in all their majesty as they are only really accessible from the river.
We took a boat trip with Portland River Tours, for a generous two hours. It really is the best way to see them, and all the thundering water coming over them.
