Today I went to get a coffee here, then I went to the back and looked at books while in the phone with my mom. A woman asked me to get off my phone even though I was being quiet and was is in the back where the books are. I had found a book I was going to buy and was going to get another cup of coffee. I said to my mom that I needed to go as I there was only one person ahead of me. As I was saying goodbye to my mom, the woman told the barista not to serve me and that I was not welcome back. I said nothing rude to her and was in fact kind and respectful. I’ve never been treated so poorly in my life. I was talking to my mom about my wedding plans and it wasn’t a short conversation. I’m a kind person and never want to disrespect anyone for any reason and was shocked to be treated this way, and I left. I’m not welcome back? It seemed like an incredibly harsh punishment for being...

I came in on Wednesday 4/12 with my employee on the way to a job. There was no line and we ordered our two drinks right off the bat.

It took over 15 minutes to make our very simple drinks. It appeared that the batista was purposely taking his time to make them as slow as possible. His attitude was rude and pretentious. I'm not sure if he didn't like our blue collar work clothes or our lack of masks, but regardless, to say the service was bad would be an understatement.

The nearly 20 minute coffee stop made it so that we were late to the job site, which is something I really hate to do as the owner of a company. I almost never write negative reviews, but the extremely long time it took to get our drinks coupled with the horrible attitudes from both their employees compelled me to do so.

Do yourself a favor and get your coffee elsewhere, especially if you're...

Lovely gift shop with thoughtful selections of books (“boy who was raised as a dog” <3 ) and sweet unique gifts, more than just artsy jewellery. The latte was well made and delicious, but...they sadly had no proper masala chai amongst the more than a dozen infusions and tea mixes available (no, presweetened chai syrup doesn’t count). Pastries are limited, no danish-type options (things that might have to be chilled), but drier muffin type selections, and cookies were in good supply. Centering the coffee bar has undermined any hope for a private conversation or literary experience. The baristas’ conversations are the focus of the energy and noise, be it their friendly, chatty conversations amongst themselves or in service to clients. As most of the tables frame the service area, you are a part of their lives as they work. There is a large table in the rear near the kids play area which seems to be for families. Enjoy.

Really wanted to love this small local cafe, but it's honestly way overpriced for what you get. Our soy-milk mocha didn't have any chocolate flavor, so basically tasted like a latte, and the chai latte while good, was missing something to make it great and worth returning for. Would not return for the cafe part of the store. The staff were very nice and willing to answer any questions. I like that the shop is filled with stuff from small and local artists. However, some of the branded/officially licensed merchandise near the back of the store was pretty overpriced too.

Stellar place to grab a cuppa (tea, coffee, or something else) and treat your eyes to some delights as well. Lots of fun things to let your eyes wander over while you wait for your drink (if you have to wait at all), and much of Black Ink's eye candy is in its decor and can be seen whilst sitting down with friends or just your own thoughts. Staff was super friendly when I was there. (Although I myself did not, this would be a great place to get neat, little gifts for people.)
