I will start by saying this salon is clean and beautiful! Unfortunately, this is the only positive thing I can say. I walked in with healthy, long, and strong natural nails and asked for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. My pedicure chipped a little the very next day but it wasn't worth going back for the repair. My bigger problem was my manicure. I have long and wide nail beds. My nail technician must have found my nails to be too wide because she clipped the SIDES of my nails with a nail clipper instead of simply filing. There was no reason to do this since I asked for square nails, not coffin nails. Days later when the nails grew out, each of my nails looked like a head and shoulders. You could easily see the natural width versus the new width of my nails. It was such a big difference that it looked terrible and could not be corrected by simply filing the new growth. All of my natural nails were weakened and they began breaking in less than a week! When I returned two weeks later, I used the same nail tech and showed her the damage she did. BIG MISTAKE! I had 4 nails that needed to be repaired. They were breaking but not broken off. She consulted with two other techs to find out how to glue them securely. The fact that she didn't know how to fix them was a HUGE red flag. She put a super thin coat of pink hard gel on all of the breaks and assured me it would hold. The first two broke within 2 hours. The next two broke the next day. I went back to have them repaired and the same tech said she would put a thicker coat of hard gel and it would hold. I didn't trust that plan at all and decided to cut my loses! I told her to cut all of the broken nails and put tips on them. She clearly did not want to do this and I immediately found out why. First, she couldn't get the tips to stick to my nails. So she got supplies and instructions from another tech on how to make them stick. One tip had a very large air bubble under it. Clearly it didn't adhere well, but again she assured me it would stay. After she put gel over top of them, all on the tips were extremely lopsided and lumpy. Thick at the cuticle and free edge, thin at the middle. None of them were smooth! They were not shaped the same as my natural nails so you could tell they were obviously tips. I had to keep showing her edges that needed to be filed. Clumps of gel were left under the nails. It was a real disaster! I bet you can guess how this ended up! You guessed it! They broke off VERY quickly! The nail with the bubble under it came off 2 days later. Another tip and polish peeled off like a sticker 4 days later. I will NEVER go back. The tech was clearly new to her trade so I won't list her name and embarrass her, but I will say she needs more training because she lost a customer for you and earned you a...
Read moreThe staff here are great, the manager...not so much. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new nail salon. I went for a gel manicure at the beginning of the summer (one of my first) and it was great! The manicure lasted almost 2 weeks as suggested. I went back for another gel manicure the day before a 2 week vacation. Three days into my vacation I looked down and there was no longer polish on one of my nails -- completely gone. In the next 2 days every nail had the polish pop off. It was annoying because I had paid extra for a gel polish to last my whole trip. My friend insisted that should not happen (remember, I'm new to gels) and told me to take a picture and tell the salon when I got back. Today I happened to be in the area and went into the salon with my picture to try to understand what could have happened. I wasn't necessarily looking for a refund -- I just wanted to understand what causes this so it wouldn't happen again (like am I supposed to ask for a special base coat or something?) But instead of being helpful, the manager told me flatly that "gels don't come off that way" -- um, okay, well they did. Then she said that if I had a problem, I should have let them know right away - even if I was on vacation because it wasn't an international call (?!) -- um, okay, well I was 2,000 miles away and didn't. Then she started citing policy about refunds and that I was well past the refund window. Then she asked me about the polish on my nails (which I painted myself after buying nail polish on my trip). She seemed to imply that my manicure was in tact and I was making all this up. Finally she said she could give me some credit for a future manicure but not full credit because of their policy. I just left. I had come in looking for information -- and maybe an apology that this shouldn't have happened. But instead I got accusations and attitude. The nail techs are great and the front desk staff are wonderful. I just can't look past the attitude of the management and am happy to take my business elsewhere. Life is too short to be...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer since 2017 when Tina re-opened her salon and have referred many people to this salon. I had a gel manicure and pedicure numerous times with the same technician. On Thursday I had those same services. While doing my gel manicure, she nicked my cuticles on several fingers. That night my fingers began to itch and burn. On Friday my fingers (the tips and cuticles ) were red, itchy and extremely sensitive to touch. This morning, I was in such discomfort I went to another salon. The woman was very careful and diligent in removing the gel polish. She said I had an infection on my cuticles and irritations due to dirty utensils. She said I cannot use any type of polish for a few weeks.
I called LaValle when i got home and asked to speak to Tina. Antony said she was not in. So I explained briefly what happened and he said hold on. He comes back to the phone and said Tina just left. (Obviously she was still there) I said ok have her call me. Ten minutes later he calls me back and asked that I take a picture and send it to him. I said no I will not do that - why can''t Tina get on the phone instead of using you as her messenger. I said as a loyal customer I do not have to prove that I'm telling the truth. I felt very offended that in order for her to perhaps call me back she had to look at the picture. I said to him tell Tina she is not a business woman and has poor customer service.
I am not happy with this salon. This place has become very dirty. One Sunday I had a pedicure followed by a gel manicure and the technician used the same tools on my hands as she did on my feet. So I stopped her and asked her to change packets. This place is dirty. They pretend to not understand when you ask something except to give you upcharges. I will NEVER be going back. Anyone reading this, please...
