I can give you reasons on end but if you want the sparks note version, Albert Torres is by far the best personal trainer you will ever come across and I stand by every word of that.
I have had a very long, anxious, and difficult weight loss and health journey prior to training with Albert. When I started in the gym, I would wear sweatpants/oversized hoodies and walk around the entire perimeter of the gym to get to the other side just so no one would look at me. I was ashamed of my body, appearance and had deep rooted anxiety being in the gym to the point I wanted to be invisible.
I signed up to get a trainer knowing I needed to make that change in my life and for me getting a trainer who could guide, uplift and support me was the best way for me to do so. I had a very unique experience where in under a year I went through 3 different trainers prior to meeting Albert. Although this is very much unheard of and most people would have stopped training after the first trainer- I by chance (and luck) met Albert and have never been more sure of anything else.
Albert is the whole package and then some. He knows nutrition, he knows weight lost tips, he knows the gym, he knows machines- and yes you can argue that most trainers have similar knowledge. But what you won’t find in many trainers is the passion, the breath of fresh air and anxiety fleeting away, the confidence boosting, the checking in on you, the friendship, patience, humility and indescribable work ethic that Albert brings to the table. See you don’t just “get a trainer” with Albert, it is so much more and having gone through many years of anxiety, weight lost frustration, defeat, and multiple trainers I can tell you right now Albert is a diamond in the rough.
Fast forward to a little over two years now training with Albert I have gotten SO much more out of having a trainer than I could have ever imagined! My attire has changed, I can walk through the gym confidently (which seems silly but that was a big milestone for me), I am laughing and smiling at the gym, on the rare days I just don’t want to go because I was having a stressful moment prior he instantly was able to turn it around, I am proud and confident and my mental health just continues to sky rocket and has never been better, my body feels stronger and I am not anxious and hyper focused on a scale or number- Albert as a trainer is truly the gift that keeps on giving.
As someone who has also struggled with most likely eating disorders on both ends of the spectrum her whole life, he has given me so much knowledge and grace without any force or shame which is HUGE for me. I know sometimes passion from trainers can translate into almost a forced feeling and if you don’t hit this number by a certain time frame it can feel shameful- instead of Albert portraying that red flag he has been nothing but gentle and patient as I struggled through our training with eating habits. Not only that, but instead of ever guilting me he asks what is going on in my life, listens, and we have discussions that helps me rationalize and prioritize my health long term. Now I am happy to say we share meal ideas, shopping lists and recipes (which is tricky as I’m extremely picky but we have a laugh about it and figure out what we can make with the limited items I will eat😂).
And for all my ladies out there who may have anxiety/hesitation training with a male trainer like I did, yet again Albert is the trainer for you. 2/3 trainers I had prior were females as I personally just didn’t feel comfortable having a male trainer. Out of the two female trainers and now two male trainers I have worked with Albert by far was the one I felt the most comfortable with which if you knew me prior I swore up and down I would never have a male trainer!
If you can even believe it, all this above is just the tip of the iceberg. If you are looking for a trainer, a change, or you don’t even know where to start I would call and ask for a kick off with Albert Torres immediately- you...

I’ve been a member of this gym since February of this year. Immediately upon joining [with the highest level membership [$35/month], I also subscribed to their personal training sessions [$288/ biweekly].
At the end of June, I was involved in an accident and was physically unable to continue training [due to pain and Dr’s orders]. I informed my trainer immediately and was placed on a freeze. I was not informed of a freeze deadline at all.🚩Additionally, I was charged the membership fee of $35 throughout the freeze duration.
Fast forward to early October, I was notified by my credit card company of a charge of $288 from Crunch Fitness. 🚩Mind you, I haven’t had a session with my trainer since the end of June.
At the same time, Hurricane Milton was making its arrival to Florida. Still, I tried calling and after the hurricane passed, I went to the location multiple times to no avail (as they were closed). I even emailed the facility and have yet to receive a response. 🚩
I went up to this Crunch location in person yesterday to cancel everything since this business does not know how to respond otherwise. I met with the PTM, who informed me that my freeze ended October 4 [unbeknownst to me] and that there was absolutely no way he could cancel yet another upcoming payment of $288 [to be taken out October 18]!!! 🚩🚩🚩🚩
He explained that they needed a 10 day window to void any payments and my rebuttal was that I was totally unaware of the un-freeze, I’m still not cleared by my doctor to return to full PT workouts, there was a hurricane last week, and Crunch has a problem responding to calls and emails!! So the PTM emailed his boss to request a cancellation.
Today, I received a call from the PTM that my membership will be cancelled but they are still planning to draft the $288 from my account. 🚩Still today, I have not received a response to the email I sent last week.🚩 Also, when I called the corporate phone number listed on the website, I was redirected to their website which then redirects me to my home gym. 🚩Essentially, there is no sensible way to get in contact with their corporate office 🚩.
I am a very logical, understanding and supportive customer but I stand against unethical business practices especially from businesses who do not do their due diligence in reciprocating that same energy towards their customers. I am fed up with CRUNCH FITNESS-MELBOURNE’s lack of communication, unauthorized charges, and overall disregard of my welfare as a paying customer.
To the potential customer reading this: DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Read through my review and some others, how many red flags do you need? Yes, it’s a decent gym but it’s jam packed a lot of the time, the billing/cancellation hassle is not worth it, and CRUNCH only cares about getting your money not your wellbeing as a customer.
To Crunch Fitness: DO BETTER! Treat your customers right and improve your business practices. Plus, you never know the influence of those you screw over so treat your customers as though you appreciate them. After all, some of us are spending thousands only to be met with hell when trying to...
Read moreIf I could give ZERO stars I would! My son was a member of Crunch from day one of their opening in Melbourne (192). He canceled his membership in person on June 23, 2025. Upon cancellation, he was told there would be a cancellation fee along with the monthly dues (last month's dues). They asked how he wanted to pay for that and he aked if he could use a credit card. They said he could. He told them that his bank account info is what they had on file which would get debited each month for the dues. He made sure to ask that these "additional fees" not come out of his bank account on file since he was paying both separate fees with a credit card. They assured him they wouldn't come out of his bank account on file. Well guess what, THEY DID! He has been back to Crunch no less than FOUR TIMES trying to get the money back in his account since he got charged twice, once via credit card and once via ACH. It is nearly $85 that Crunch owes him. That may not seem like a lot of money but he's a full time student and now it's the principle of the matter. Each time he's gone in there, he's gotten a different story..."it's being processed", "it'll take 5-10 business days to go back in your account", "we need to send a request for a refund", "blah, blah, blah". I got so fed up with their run-around that I went with him last Thursday, July 17th. Upon entering, I asked to speak to a manager and with that Marco (who I was speaking to) said, "what can I do for you?". I went in with a printout of my son's bank statement showing the withdrawal on June 23rd and no credits back to the account. Marco, this so-called, self-proclaimed "manager" was rude and condescending towards me and my son, telling me that "the fees owed are in the contract he signed when he signed up". I told him that's NOT what we're disputing. What we're there for is a refund of the dues that were paid TWICE, once on his credit card (the method he specifically asked to use) and once by ACH. Marco said "we can't give refunds here and will have to put in a request". Seriously???? You sure as hell can take the money but you can't credit it back?!?!? I specifically asked Marco what the heck was done then the last 3-4 times my son went in there to get his money refunded. All Marco kept saying was "it has to be requested". Then some kid Jeramiah chimed in stating that my son signed a contract. Again, I said directly to this other rude employee (both of which I've got by 20+ years) THAT'S NOT THE ISSUE! We left out of there with my last words to both of them, "If, come next Thursday, the money is not back in his account, you'll be seeing a lot more of me...get used to this face!" To date, the money is STILL NOT REFUNDED...A MONTH LATER!!!! From these interactions alone, I would suggest giving your money to a gym that is trustworthy and more deserving of your business. Clearly, Crunch is...
