The park is small but mighty! There is a small men's and women's (separate) restroom by the long parking lot. It isn't beautiful, but it does work. It is a one way road so don't do what we did and go the wrong way. Haha Go down the hill in front of you when you pull in, drive along the river, then up the hill into the parking lot. There is a dock that you can walk out onto and a few benches/picnic tables on the grassy hill. No playground. We used this as a snack/wiggle break on our 8 hour road trip with a 4 and 6 year old. Perfect place! Really close to...

Daniel Boone is one of not too many public boat launch sites on the Kanawha River between the Marmet and Winfield Locks. It's easy access and there are plenty of trailer spaces. The ramp is steeper than ones I've been used to launching from, so be aware and don't back down too fast (like I did the first time) and have to stand on the brake. Also the dock needs some treated...

Two nights I camped in my hammock with my scooter, two nights the cpd saw me camping, and said not a word to me, so I thought no signs forbidding camping meant it was ok. This morning at 3AM I was awoken by the bright as the sun spotlight of a cpd vehicle and told to scoot from the park. Put up signs,or tell someone the first time you see...

Beautiful but small park. There is a very nice boat launch area, picnic spots and seats with a view. There is a very nice fishing pier. Plenty of trash cans, restrooms and ample parking. I went on a Sunday afternoon and found it relatively quiet. Some families are there with kids, fishers, boaters and gawkers like myself. Overall a peaceful park with nice views.

The park is clean, Out of the 3 times I've been here, the restroom (women's) has been locked once, but it was probably where it's a Sunday & it was kinda early (plus the blvd. was closed). The boat ramp to Kanawha river is nice, a lot easier for everyone to get into the boat. I recommend using this park.
