I’m writing a new review for this place since the store made many updates and my old review is now obsolete. In my old review, I mentioned the .99 sale and color tags and how any day of the week much of the store is either 50% off or a dollar. I did say in my review that I hope they never change that... When I learned they got rid of the .99 color and 50% off other colors, I was soooo bummed. To me, that was what separated Salvation from Northern “Thrift” and Savers - that they actually had thrift prices! I went in to Salvation one day since the update and only one color was half off… very different than the past. However, I then learned that on Wednesdays they now have 4 colors off, so they’ve redeemed themselves in my opinion. Plus, the base tags, before any color sale, are still lower than most local “thrift” stores (which have just become for profit and extremely greedy and audacious). I will continue to shop here, I just ask that y’all please continue to price appropriately. I really enjoy Wednesdays, holiday sales, and similar events. I won’t remove any stars because after visiting several times since the update, I can still say the prices are fair. Definitely better than many thrifts. Please continue to stay humble and remember your customer base....
Read moreI just dropped off a bunch of clothes and a brand new 300 dollar motorcycle carrier. The woman who accepts the donations acted like I was lucky to give them all that for free!!! What an attitude. She acted like some union hack who only knows how to act entitled while refusing any help whatsoever. She was more then happy to tell me everything she couldn't/wouldn't do.
I asked for help getting the motorcycle carrier out of the car because it is heavy. She rolled her eyes and said I can ask but I doubt you'll have any help. She didn't even ask. I have a bad back from fracturing it a few years ago but I took the chance and did it without help. So I put the 200 lb carrier right in front of one og their boxes so they'd have to move it anyway.
If you can go somewhere else do it. But if you can't then avoid the 50 something short hefty woman with short gray hair...
Read moreThe staff here are always welcoming and accommodating. The pricing can seem arbitrary, but that is the nature of dealing with used items of various brands and conditions. If you are value-conscience you can find some great deals. Like most consignment/thrift stores the prices are gradually lowered until the product sells. Even the Salvation Army has operating costs, and can't afford to give stuff away. This store is well-organized, and clean. It also tends to have better deals than the two Warwick stores. It seems to be on par with Saver's. The furniture selection is lacking, but the clothing section is abundant. I suggest visiting all the stores to find the best deals, and the West Warwick Salvation Army is a great...
