Song Lash | SL Eyelash — Attraction in Westfield

I am surprised with all the amazing reviews since I did not have a great experience. I booked my appt with Laura for 12pm. An hour before the appt, she asks if I can come a little earlier. I told her that I live 30 min away and could only be there around 11:30-45. In order to accommodate, my fiance and I rush to eat and we were able to get there at 11:36. When I got there for the first time, she exclaims, “you made it!”, yet there was another person getting their lashes done. I sit there for 25 minutes, but I get super thirsty and so I proceed to go to the car, where my fiance is waiting to get some water. As I am walking out, she says that she’s almost done (I assume she thought I got frustrated and was just planning to leave). I told her Id be right back, brought my water in and settled in again. 12:20, she finally finishes up with her client but then spends another 10 minutes chatting with them about their work as if I havent been waiting for 45 minutes. She finally talks to me at 12:30, thirty min after my original scheduled appt and 1 hour since I arrived. She apologizes saying that after she asked me to come in earlier than my original appointment, the prior client walked in asking if she could be seen. She explains that she thought she could take her before me but turned out that she had to remove all her old lashes and give her a new set. I dont understand why she couldnt schedule the walk-in client for later or even take a second to message me to ask to come in later. Nonetheless, I begrudgingly end up on the table and asked for a natural look showing her reference photos I saved on my phone. Throughout the process, she made me feel insecure and embarrassed about my style and choice of lashes. An hour later, we are done and we go to the counter to pay. I dont have cash on me and ask her if she takes credit card. She says she does but not today since its Sunday. Confused, I ask her if she takes electronic payment but she only takes cashalo so we download cashapp, but this is all while she decides to take a phone call with her daughter. After we paid, we just stood there and didnt know if she was going to get off the phone to give me instructions on how to care for the lashes. She notices us and takes her phone away from her ear to tell us goodbye and that I should be okay with everything since I have a lot of experience with lashes. I have no idea where she got this idea since this was only my second time, as explained when I was on the table. The night I got my lashes, I already had four lashes come off. I came here due to the rave reviews, but I just wasted my Sunday waiting almost an hour after she asked me to come in earlier and decided to take in a client in between that time. I wish this wasnt my experience especially because I want to support fellow Korean business owners, but I felt really disrespected especially of my time and despite knowing my frustration, she did absolutely nothing to compensate for it. I also used only around 60 lashes, and she still charged me the same amount for full lashes despite using a coupon. Laura @ Song Lash is a lucky find in Westfield, Nj. Everyone I have referred to the salon is extremely pleased w her craftsmanship , new look & accommodating scheduling procedures.Most have had unpleasant, overpriced experiences, like myself @ local Lash franchises - she is a game changer. Please ask about the “ lash club” The environment she has created is unique, inviting, comfortable, extremely clean, w parking conveniently located ,just a hop, skip & jumó away. Where do you find that in Westfield???? If you are at all experienced w lash extensions, you know how difficult it is to find an artist who can give you a “natural” look OR “pop”, if that’s what you desire, that also have staying power w/o destroying your natural lashes. She will educate you on how to care for them if you are a newbie.The owner is an experienced licensed cosmetologist , w many options for your look as well as skin treatments, if you so desire. After multiple less than ideal experiences elsewhere, I’m happy to say I’ve been a regular client at Song Lash for the past several months. I’m so happy to have found Laura. She’s been nothing but warm and friendly to me since the first session, putting me at ease. She takes the time to understand what styles I like while also considering what best suits my eye shape and lashes. Her finished looks always leave me checking myself out in her cute, bejeweled heart mirror. Her facility and work space are not only clean but also super cozy - it feels like she’s welcomed me into her home. I get compliments on my lashes all the time no matter what style I’m wearing. My eyes never feel heavy or irritated. They don’t even feel like they have anything on them. She also takes the time to educate me on proper aftercare and hygiene to keep my natural lashes healthy.
