I had the most appalling experience here at the most recent full moon event. A vendor accidentally caused an electric cord to be entangled in a ceiling fan. Immediately, they found Maven, the owner of this place, to oversee the accident. Not only did Maven storm out of the building in a feat of anger, but loudly shouting and cussing that this accident happened, leaving the vendor on their own. After a moment, a friend of Maven’s rushed toward the vendor and told them that they needed to leave immediately. The vendor, already shaken and distraught over what happened, tried to explain to the friend that they wanted to talk to Maven over the accident that occurred. The friend then proceeds to bully the vendor, yelling at them to leave, threatening to call the police and getting in their personal space in such a nasty and aggressive way. Even as this was happening, the owner just kept passing by as this bullying was occurring, not addressing what was happening and ignoring the situation. The vendor then has a panic attack and starts to cry under the bullying that the owner’s friend was doing. Another vendor had to intervene and de-escalate the situation, which I’m very glad they did, since no one in charge of the event wasn’t doing so. Maven’s Co-owner was also ignoring the situation and not addressing the accident at hand. The vendor then gathered her things and waited outside to get picked up. Other vendors went with them to calm her down and talk to her about the situation. Guess who wasn’t there? The owners. After the vendor leaves, a GUEST untangles the cord from the fan, sees that no damage occurred, and was ignored by the owners. Why Maven’s co-owner didn’t do this themselves, see that the accident didn’t cause damage, and had the potential for things to not get out of hand is far beyond me. Maven then proceeds to just talk bad about the vendor for no reason and caused rumors to spread. It’s so shameful that I, as a guest, had o clear the air between other guests because of such childish behavior coming from a business owner. This was extremely unprofessional and compromises the message of unity and love within this establishment. I advise that other customers/guests as myself and other vendors take their business elsewhere. I know this is late but I’m not letting this be forgotten. Never going back...
Read moreWell, I actually have passed the store number of times over this past few months and never really knew what it was from the street. From street view it looks like a small consignment store since there are clothes hanging in the window in purses that you can see hanging which might suggest that it is somewhat of a vintage boutique. I stopped today because there was a sub Booth outside of the store showcasing handmade bags from Mexico. I thought "hey, this is my chance to check this place out!" Unfortunately I did not realize that this was a witching apothecary and not a vintage clothing store. I'm a Christian and therefore I guarantee you I won't be returning to the establishment due to conflict of interest as you might already realize. But because I'm an honest person I had to give an honest and fair review.
The store seems very clean and the ladies working there seemed very willing to help and we're polite. I do wish that they would better represent the store with their signage outside. The sign atop the building was old and faded. There wasn't a lot of parking in fact there was a car blocking the mural on the side of the building which clearly would have tipped me off the type of establishment this was and I would have never have entered.
While this place is not for me, if you are looking for a wide variety of potions, pagan statues or similar types there are plenty there. Again, I am posting my honest and...
