Chicken Express — Restaurant in White Settlement

First I want to say what an outstanding job with the crispy chicken and the perfect tatars! Takes me back to when my great granny would fry chicken and make homemade mash on Sunday after church.

My husband and I came in after a long 5 hour trip from our destination, we decided to stop and try this Chicken that I’ve heard everyone brag about! When we entered the restaurant we got a friendly welcome & a big smile like we just got home to family. Very welcoming and such sweet demeanors at the front counter. A sweet girl took our order and had a lot of patience for our many questions, I believe her name was “ Reena “ but I could be wrong and I apologize if I am. But she was just so sweet, and attentive. We had a couple more questions that she wasn’t able to answer so she called over the manager on the floor to see if she could help us. This woman came up to the counter and introduced herself as Charlie and said she was told we needed help, she was very warm & and inviting with a smile that held onto many things but she never let it show, she sat with us and talked and helped us with a card issue, she was very polite and helpful, and after helping us and getting our food as we sat down , she continued to check on us periodically for a fresh refill or to make sure we didn’t need anything further. She went above the scale of customer service, but enough about us.. as we sit to eat I am observing her take care of other customers and tidy up things, a young man walked in and looked as though he hadn’t had a bath or ate in a few days. The young lady that had first greeted us had again walked to get Charlie after the young man had asked for something and at that point I wasn’t sure what he needed. But as Charlie greeted this young man she first asked how he was & if he needed anything? The young man asked her if he could pick up trash to be able to get a small meal, and as She apologized and explained she wasn’t aloud to do that, but she said I know what it’s like to be hungry, homeless, and willing to do anything for food or a drink and she said I can’t promise you I’ll have enough for a whole mean but I can promise you I should have enough for a tender and a water, so as she walked into wherever she needed to check she came out with her purse and pulled out change and by this time I had already made my way up there to the counter, and she asked if I needed anything or another drink and I smiled and told her no ma’am I just want you to know what a incredible woman you are and I thanked her for going above and beyond for me and my husband and how beautiful it is to see that there is good people out there still and I told her I wanted to give her a tip & she said thank you ma’am but you don’t have to pay me to be this way, it’s free of charge, but I insisted she took it, she said well would it be ok if I bought this young man a meal with that tip? I said of course! Charlie if you read this just know God has his hand on you , you are a strong and beautiful woman and God heard you, he see’s you. This testimony isn’t over yet for you young lady, you will understand the reason behind every hurt and every tear I promise you. Don’t loose faith in the Lord. Trust in him always, he knows the way and he is the truth:God bless each of you at chicken express you all are incredible...

The fish fillets they have are wonderful they need a little flavor in them but some of their seasoning salt on top when they come out of the fryer would be good to have So take some seasoned salt with you and if you like hot stuff take some of the pepper flakes that they have free as a condiment on the side with you. The chicken livers are wonderful they're not undercooked they're always nice and crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside and they're very good. Prices a little high for my flavor but they are doing you a service by cooking for you so I have put that in there on the cost of the food and then it looks pretty acceptable. Would recommend if you're getting fish to call ahead that way will be there for you when you get picked up they also do food delivery then you so anybody doing Panda Express or something like that will be able to get the same thing done at Chicken Express and I love their reopening that everything looks nice and clean and haven't had any problem with the food. Also sometimes they put a little extra surprise for you in your bucket for waiting so long so I got some corn poppers in addition to my dinner so that's value added to me I mean they're nice and they're creamy and they have corn inside and they're pretty good. Now I'm just waiting for oysters to show up. I do go to Chicken Express and I don't think you'll be disappointed with the chicken The chicken is excellent as well I get the mixed piece of white meat piece of dark although I do prefer thighs when I cook them myself. Definitely go to this chicken express if you live in the area you don't feel like cooking on rainy day Just call ahead pick it up and you're good! 12-22-24 UPDATE I ordered three chicken pieces roll with two sides One of the sides had to be cooked so I had to wait for that but when I got home I'll tell you this I wouldn't feed it to my dog if I had one. The chicken inside was dry and it seemed like it was old because I had no flavor The only thing I had flavor was the coating and I don't eat chicken fat or chicken skin. The other comments above are for them only I didn't order chicken the last two times I was there until tonight and I will drive if I have to to churches as I haven't tried Taco Bell's chicken but this chicken I'll never order chicken from here again they don't brine it or they don't season it before they coat it and fry it I don't know something's wrong with the meat there is no absolutely no flavor on the chicken breast I didn't eat the other two pieces I threw them away...

Why you be open for 3 additional hours and not be aware you are running low or completely out of apple pies. It's as if know one is paying attention..Additionally; my family and I have been eating at this location for 8 years now. What is going on with the chicken? It is awful now. It tastes like eating a mouthful of salt. We now have no place in our neighborhood to get chicken. The restraunt looks disgusting. The shift mgr or manager was talking to the employee that was helping me a out work schedules in the middle of everything. Why do the employees manager included look so unkempt and unprofessionally dressed. This is the worst location. 6-23-23 I only live less than 5min away and my chicken was ice cold when I got home. The girl that worked there also didn't tell me as per normal if they were even ready or not. I was charged and then found out afterwards. I wouldn't have stayed had I known that. 10-3-23 I decided to go in this time because the drive thru takes forever. Well it's only 50% faster. 3 girls wearing drive thru headsets. 1 literallt sitting around talking, one at the window, 1 texting on her phone 5 times, 1 guy cooking with no hair or beard net, 1 man in the back swatting flies with an actual fly swatter. There was one guy who was very focused and stayed productive. One girl working in a very scattered way. The entire staff isn't stream lined. There is 0 organization. The guy with the beard kept trying to be funny and make eye contact with me for validation he was hilarious. I spent $50 again on 20 tender again. I watched them poor the gravy out of a bucket into the steam table. That looked disgusting 😐 No one seems to be in charge. Looks like teenagers and convicts run the joint on gravy and biscuit wheels. Good Lord when will the owner ever fix all things broken in terms of service and procedures. There's no professionalism in this location at all. No one is mean. Just an extreme lack...
