For as large and beautiful as this HD is, it is going down the tube. Isles are badly stocked and faced with items out of reach of taller customers. Management needs to revisit how their staff organizes and refreshes isles and endcaps. The front of the store looks like a big lots overfilled and badly set. Recently all the employees seem very disgruntled. Every lane I walk through, I have heard employees complaining about not understanding what is going on or why their hours were cut without being told. Employees that have been around seem like the only ones not talking and working. All the others are badly set. Returns had 1 person with a line ou the door. Customer service has 1 with a line. Orders has 1 running around self checkout keeps being closed early. Garden and pro seem to close earlier and earlier. 2 cashiers are slow. They need the fast ones in front and newbies working behind them or bise versa. Customers are literally blowing up behind me and their is no attempt to meet demand. 8pm... still early. 30+ minutes in returns. Oh finally, customer service finished her line and helped move returns. Order puller moves fast, but flings orders into the baskets. Night crew was half done pulling out more stuff. It's too early! As it is, there are always pallets and boxes all over the floor on a regular basis now.

Where do I begin? For those who don't feel like reading this entire review, DO NOT have Home Depot install your dishwasher. You would think that having the "professionals" install your dishwasher would be the preferred choice, but you'd save yourself headache and damages doing it yourself (if you can). Let's recap what Home Depot dishwasher installation for me looked like (see attached photos): the installers chipped the laminate floor and newly built cabinets, did not level the dishwasher both horizontally and vertically, and (you're not going to believe this), dropped a socket into my brand new garbage disposal, which we didn't find until after we turned it on. On top of all of that, the dishwasher doesn't even work (it gives an error every time we try to run it)! It's a joke how bad this installation was; it would've been better not to have had them over at all. I could have babysat them to ensure it was done right, but I shouldn't have to. Is it too much to ask that the "professionals" to do their job right while I'm doing my job? Just save your money and go with someone else; Home Depot is not the way to go (you'd be better off paying twice as much to not have to go through the same experience).

Back again July 2023 All I can say is...... There's never anyone around when you need helpđŸ€·đŸ€·đŸ€·... I have to change my 4 star to a 3 stars 😒 _________________ Super clean. Mostly everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. I had a few problems at the customer service department. I wait in line for a good 30 to 40 minutes just to pickup something I purchased online. It was paid for and everything, when I finally get my turn, they answer a phone call and take care of that person before they help me. I know whenever I call I always get put on hold because they're with a customer. I was in a real hurry that day. I apologized and explained that I was in a hurry and she just ignored me and continued to help the person on the phone. She did not apologize for it and she helped me with severe attitude. I didn't get a have a nice day afterwards either. I completely felt ignored, and dismissed. However, for the most part everyone here is always pretty much all about customer service, with the exception of the customer service woman, pretty ironic lol.

My parents experienced what I can only describe as blatant racism today at this Home Depot. They’re in their 70’s, so perhaps a bit of ageism thrown in for good measure. They got up early to buy a grill and chose this location, as it is the closest one and the one we do business with all the time. They already bought the grill and only needed help putting it in the car. A young Caucasian male met them outside to give them the grill. Give them the grill, not help them with it to their car. So my parents in their seventies roll this grill to their car and find that it just barely doesn’t fit, but it can if the grill is separated from the stand. My mom goes back and asks the same white male (she’s estimates him to be 30) if he can please help them remove the bottom portion so they can put it in the car. My mom speaks English, both of my parents are legal citizens—not that that should matter. He takes a look at what she’s talking about, doesn’t say a single word—turns around and walks away. My mom is a little confused by this and assumes he’s going to get some tools to help. He never came back! It became apparent because my mom waited for him until she realized he was not coming back. I’d like to thank all the women on staff today 7/8/24 in the morning (thank you Gabriela & thank you Quenna) who were extremely kind and apologetic to my mother. One of them got out her tools and tried to help. They are better “men” than that “man” who didn’t have the basic human decency to direct a word towards my mother and walked away. Conveniently he was on his lunch break so he couldn’t come out and explain himself. The manager was in a meeting. My parents didn’t get the man’s name unfortunately but told me that the cashiers and other people she spoke to were all women who were very very kind, helpful, and apologetic. It’s 2024 and I’m saddened that my parents are experiencing this sort of behavior in Whittier where Latinos make up such a large percentage of the community. I’ve never raised a fuss about anyone or been a “Karen” but this isn’t even behavior that falls under that category. It wasn’t harmless it was benign, this guy is a disrespectful racist that showed my parents no dignity. My parents returned the grill. This man cost this Home Depot almost $200 in business. I ask you, managers/higher ups if what he makes as an employee plus the money he costs the business with his behavior is really worth the non-work he puts in at his job. I’m beyond upset and would love to personally go in myself as a more Americanized non senior citizen and ask him what’s up. However, I have the mind to know that maybe this is not...

I recently had the most appalling van rental experience at the Home Depot Store in Whittier, CA. On October 28, 2023, I arrived at 6:00 am to pick up a van I had booked a week in advance. The check-in process was swift, but the representative's lack of information was shocking. She merely conducted a brief walk-around to note dents and scratches, neglecting to cover critical details such as gas, insurance, or any operational instructions. I was handed the keys with a brisk "thanks," and that was it.

As I hit the road, the door between the cab and cargo area began slamming shut every time I stopped, due to a missing knob. This defect made the entire journey to Central California an acoustic nightmare. Despite attempting to minimize the noise with blaring music, the incessant slamming dominated the trip. The absence of time for a return or replacement forced me to endure the torment.

Upon returning the van at 7:00 am the following day, the service plummeted even further. The assistant handling returns appeared visibly annoyed when I rang the bell for assistance. Her response to my greeting was a stony silence. Handing her the keys to indicate the van return, she commenced typing without acknowledging my presence. After a polite nudge for acknowledgment, her dismissive and bothered response was profoundly unprofessional.

When I requested a manager, the process was met with visible reluctance from the assistant. The manager, Marcus, did listen attentively but failed to provide any apology, compensation, or even a hint of consideration for the malfunctioning van door or the dismal service. His lack of proactive resolution was disappointing, to say the least.

As I stood waiting, the assistant abruptly handed me a receipt without any information on the total charges or a simple gesture of gratitude for my patronage. The absence of any attempt to address my dissatisfaction was evident. It was an incredibly disheartening experience.

The van itself performed adequately aside from the door issue, but the abysmal service overshadows any positive aspect. I strongly advise steering clear of this Home Depot Store in Whittier for van rentals. This experience was beyond disappointing, and I cannot recommend...

Rude store manager Daniel! This manager can care less what your problem is. My order was supposed to be ready last Friday but I got a notification saying it wouldn’t be ready till Monday which was fine. Then Monday comes and they say not till Tuesday which is fine Tuesday comes still not ready. My account now says that the order is at the Whittier location as of 6/7 today is now 6/9 order still not ready. I understand things happen but this store has poor communication! And apparently ANYONE can be a store manager. I called in to guest services to see what was going on and my husband decided to take a trip to the store since our tracking number shows it was delivered to the Whittier store. I understand how shipping works I’m I work in the freight department as well and my husband does as well. When the agent from customer service advised me to speak to a manager because she knew this was not right I spoke to Daniel the store manager who didn’t want to hear my situation all she said was “yes, your husband was here earlier I already know what your calling for.” So rude and she completely disregarded me. The least she could have done was been understanding of the situation instead she kept blaming it on customer service that if I wanted discounts or anything they need to help me. My problem wasn’t a discount, I just want to know when my fridge would arrive so I can plan the pick up accordingly. But again anyone can be a manager it doesn’t take much customer service skills to get this job. All she kept telling me was she can’t help me and MAYBE my order is Will be ready tomorrow.” When it has already been scanned into the Whittier Home Depot. I will be closing my card out soon and go...
