My kids just finished their 4th summer going on an Overland Summers adventure, and like all the past summers, they had an incredible experience. Year after year Overland continues to provide the highest quality adventures for children and teens. The leaders are capable, fun, engaging, skilled, caring and so much more. You know an organization is doing something right when their leaders are consistently amazing across the 8 total trips my children have been on! Every year my kids return home saying that this was their favorite trip! Making new friends, seeing new places, having adventures, gaining independence, working together as a group, pushing themselves physically, learning to be flexible as unexpected situations arise- the life lessons the kids learn on these trips are invaluable and help shape them into the young adults they are becoming. We are so grateful to Overland and can’t say enough about how transformative and impactful these summer adventures are!

My son had a truly wonderful time on the High Sierra Challenge. He really enjoyed both the other kids on the trip as well as the adult leadership- he had lots of opportunities to develop new skills in teamwork etc, as well as an amazing experience climbing Mt Shasta. Overland was everything that I could hope for on a trip like that— the weekly photos posted were expansive and gave me a glimpse of what the group were doing, and I knew my son was having a fantastic time because those pictures included his genuine smile. (Which any teen mother knows can be a precious and fleeting thing.). Highly recommend this — it was an investment, in terms of cost, but so worth it.

Our older daughters have always spoken about their Overland trips with excitement, respect, and a bit of reverence—so of course, their baby sister, was determined to have her turn. Overland did not disappoint. She came home tired, joyful, brimming with stories, breathtaking photos, and, of course, a bag of dirty, stinky laundry—all the things we’ve come to love about the experiences Overland creates for our children. I know there are other programs out there, but no one does it quite like Overland. Their values, combined with the quality and heart of their counselors, are what make it all so special.

My daughter had the most amazing Overland trip and I feel like a love of nature lost a bit in the last few years has returned! First off, we were lucky enough to receive some scholarship which really helped...From start to finish everyone was kind, helpful and professional which was not a surprise. I was worried as my daughter had not ever done a week without people she knew, but she had the best time and made some new friends. My favorite part is that I grew up fairly outdoorsy etc. but due to many circumstances we have not done as much with her. I have wanted to camp, hike, explore and look at trips to national parks, but she seemed to be losing interest. How would she do without TV or a tablet or friends? Would she love nature as much as I do? YES YES YES. I know the counselor's love of the outdoors and excellent planning played a huge part in this, but the daughter I once had who loved being outside and exploring is back. She already wants to do 2 weeks...and Yellowstone... and Alaska. And has now been hiking with me and wants to do a LOT of camping. Back country specifically (I'm telling her one step at a time.) I cannot thank you enough Overland.... Sometimes an experience can be a game changer and I bet your trips...

Camp Overland was an incredible experience for my 12-year-old. He came home with a level of growth, appreciation, and excitement far beyond what I had imagined. Hearing him eagerly share everything he had learned and experienced was truly heartwarming—and he’s already counting down the days until his next adventure with them next summer.

As a parent, my top priority was knowing he would be safe—both physically and emotionally—and Camp Overland exceeded my expectations. Their communication was outstanding, with regular updates and a real person always available to answer my many questions. When my son broke his arm just before his trip, they were incredibly flexible, helping us reschedule once he had healed enough to attend. At camp, they thoughtfully modified certain activities to protect him from reinjury, ensuring he could still fully enjoy the experience.

I can’t say enough positive things about Camp Overland—their care, flexibility, and dedication are...
