I stoped-by single Oleander Street Office Max/Office Depot Store remaining in Wilmington NC now that the Monkey Junction location was unceremoniously closed to peruse some Laptops, explore pena and see what they had for Office Supplies that I neglected to pack for travel this week. There were several great deals on everything from Flash Drives to Telecom, Headphone/Headsets and the usual selection of pens, mechanical pencils and inevitable Clearance Rack Items that are always a great deal if you're lucky. I stopped at the front registers for help finding the general location for laptops and had the opportunity to meet Vee, a pleasant and very thoughtful Associate who pointed me in the right direction and got me to where I needed to be. When I arrived at the front checkouts with a combination of sale and clearance items and a handful of regularly priced merchandise, I had already registered my new Cellphone Number for Text Messages and opened a new Online account, as I lost my previous phone and email to Identity Theft. Been thoughtfully ran me up for a kut 18-items, removing plastic protective cases and helpfully queueing me whenever Pop-ups on the credit card reader required user inputs for available Warranty Options. I had expected to be able to use a 30% Off Coupon for registering my account at the Register and had apparently not added my phone number, so Vee jumped on a second register to let me do that while she handled the growing line of customers. When I completed everything and attempted to use the coupon, neither my Rewards Account Information or Coupon worked, despite confirmation emails and scannable bar codes. Vee mentioned I wasn't the only Customer with an issue, and as I called Customer Service, she handled the line again on another register Ultimately, hold times were extensive and AI was willing to give-up, but Vee suggested she simply create a new account for me and re-rung the entire purchase after taking my information verbally, finishing the check-out process a second time, applying discounts, sale prices and providing a level of Customer Service that was delivered with a very positive attitude, apology for the inconvenience and an excellent overall impression of the store despite the poor technology offered for Account Sign-up and Customer Service Phone Support that lagged. It isn't often that I see Associates as engaged, motivated and truly focused on the Customer in today's shopping market, but Vee made my experience and inconvenience a negligible inconvenience that merely took a little extra time and resulted in a great outcome and welcome savings with an overall excellent experience! Great Work! (and many Thanks)!

I purchased a digital download for a poster I wanted to take to a rally today — not personal, not inflammatory, not condescending and not cartoon-ish — and uploaded it to Office Depot's website for same-day printing. Within minutes, my order was cancelled "due to the nature of the artwork" (exact text: "Democracy doesn't fear protest; dictators do," pictured in part below). Upon calling the store to find out what was so objectionable, the first person I spoke with hung up on me. The second would say only that their policy prohibited "negative" content. Obviously, the content in question supports democracy, so my takeaway is that it's protest / dissent itself that's "negative." I won't darken their door again.

This lady needs customer service training badly. She/he is very rude. Disrespectful and down right racial. She refused to assist a elderly white lady with the fax machine proceededs to tell to help her as if I were the lady slave. Then threaten to kick me out the store after I told her/ his rude self I would like to see her/him outside for racially profiling me.. I wasn't even with the white woman but I did stand there I also helped the lady along with the nice worker Mr. Ed who did his job. He was helpful. I'm very disappointed in this particular office Depot employee...

Absolutely AWFUL customer service. Ordered blue prints to be printed at the local office max. They never printed them, as they said they were sent off to their corporate office to be printed. We were never notified of this. When my husband went to pick them up, they were rude. I called to see if I could figure out what the issue was and how we could cancel the order. All the guy would say was that they were unable to print it. When I was asking why they were unable to print it, in the middle of me speaking he put me on hold. I was than transferred to the GM. When she got on the phone, I expressed how I thought it was rude that I was placed on hold and transferred in the middle of me speaking, she said I made the associate uncomfortable by my questions and tone. I did not have an attitude, I was just trying to figure out what the issue was and why I was unable to get them printed. The GM proceeded to cut me off every time I tried to speak, or explain to her why we were confused. My order confirmation just says that I can pick up my order at their location, it does not have an estimated date and time it would be ready, nor did it specify that it would not be printed on site. She kept speaking over me and telling me how they are a "Top Tier 5 store" and they cannot print anymore than 5 blue print pages at a time. We order Blue prints monthly from Office Max, and we have printed 50+ pages at a time to our local Office Max in Sanford, NC. We have never once had an issue with this before. I was unable to finish one whole sentence the whole time I was on the phone with either the associate or the GM. The GM just kept speaking over me, no matter how much I tried to explain to her that we could not resolve this if she did not let me explain why I was so confused. They are incapable of printing larger jobs, and they are incapable of respectfully speaking to their customers. That GM needs to be either...

I came in about 2:30pm and waiting in line almost 30 mins to be waiting on by the businesses service people. Not their fault, it was very busy. I needed to order business cards and the lady was very helpful helping me get my order put in. They told me it was going to take a little time to do my cards so I asked them if I could come back and just pick them up in a couple of hours. She assured me that was more than ample time.

I came back at 5:00pm and my cards were not ready. The girl had forgotten to do them, but they claimed they would have them done in 15 more minutes. I went across the street and had dinner (which I didn’t need because I have food at my condo). I came back at 5:45 and the girl who was supposed to be competing my order took a break before she ever started on my order so nothing had been done.

At that point they finally began working on my small project just to find that the printer was malfunctioning. After another 45 minutes, my cards were finally done and I left the store.

The employees were very apologetic, but it shows me that if you don’t stay there and stare at them while they finish your order, they will move people in front of you to complete them first.

I would have given them a one star, but the employees were very courteous and owned up to the apparent shortcomings. I do own a roofing company and was going to put in about a $10,000 order for yard signs, banners, etc. but I will be taking my...
