CAVA — Restaurant in Wilmington

Extremely disappointed in my visit to cava today. I’ve eaten here many times and today was just not it.

I ordered two harissa avocado bowls and the first issue I came across (after getting home, 45 minutes away, not thinking I should check behind the restaurant to make sure everything is correct) was that I added the “included pita” to both bowls and only received one measly piece of pita (not even one for each bowl! One piece of pita to share between two people?!)

Another issue was that I didn’t get ANY of the basmati rice on one of the bowls even though that’s one of the normal included ingredients and I didn’t remove it! Not one single grain of rice.

I also had absolutely ZERO fire roasted corn on my bowl, which is also an included ingredient that I did not remove when placing my order.

My BIGGEST issue is that I paid to add the fiery broccoli and had absolutely no broccoli whatsoever on my bowl!!!!

Cava on Oleander, DO BETTER! The food is too expensive to pay for extra things that we won’t actually get.

This is my favorite place to eat..BUT…it’s not uncommon for me to spend 50-100 a week eating here. However during most of those times I would order the same exact thing and be charged anywhere from $5-10 difference depending who rang me up. I was aware of upcharges which is fine but when I order the same exact thing and can’t be confident in what I’m spending there is an issue. I decided to start using the app to avoid this which now my pricing has remained consistent and the same bowl that I’ve been charged $25 for is now $17. But today I came to pick up my order and instead of splendid greens and arugula the splendid greens was replaced with iceberg or romaine lettuce. This is quite frustrating because I prefer to order in store but do to inconsistent and large gaps in pricing for the same dish I was moved to the app and now that has fell through. I’d like to start by saying this is my first negative experience here (as I eat here often). I did an online car pick up order last night at 8pm after a long work day. I picked up food for me and my fiance which were both build your own greens and grain bowl (which I always do). I asked for balsamic date dressing on the side, which was forgotten…which is such a bummer! They also forgot my tomato and onion, and I asked for half veggies and harissa chicken and literally had 3 veggies in my bowl. I got braised lamb for my fiance which legit had one dry and tiny chunk of meat. For a $3 up charge that just seems very lame. I always go in and order my food and apparently that’s what you have to do. Don’t do an online order here, they forget half of what you ask for.
