My mom lives in Wilmington, and we've visited the place about 3 times in the past 3 months. The first time, I got excited about a chocolate crepe, and when I pointed I was not expecting chocolate syrup crepe (I had higher expectations, I thought they used good quality chocolate ganache), the owner (Jaqueline) got extremely offended and upset, mentioning she uses only the best, Monin (which I know well, and although they have good quality syrups, for me, it's not the same as a good quality real chocolate ganache for a french crepe).
Anyway, we went again a few weeks later for breakfast. We ordered two full breakfasts with eggs, sausage and bacon, as well as a crepe. It originally comes with a sweet crepe, but instead we wanted a ham and cheese crepe. After a few moments of discussion on how to charge it, they gave us what we requested with a small extra charge (Benjamin, by the way, really kind guy).
But the problem is that three days later we went again and ordered exactly the same thing, and the owner (the woman, Jaqueline) said in a very cold and straight forward way that she cannot replace the sweet crepe for a savory one. We mentioned that they just did two days before, and her answer was, very upset, that she cannot keep doing that, that it was wrong and it should've not been done in the first place; that she was simply not going to do it. I got really upset, and told her to give me the exact same breakfast that I, THE CUSTOMER, wanted, and she could charge it as she wanted. Well, she charged for two ham and cheese crepes, and...one side of scrambled eggs, one side of bacon, and one side of sausage, a total of almost $30dls. She was truly rude, and makes me mad to see her again. I really think she is not objective, and to this, you should add that I felt VERY discriminated (I am middle eastern, but speak spanish with my family). She kept smiling to other customers and asking if everything was ok except with us.
I have been to many many parts of the world, including France, and I am a pastry chef myself. And believe me, their crepes are just ok. They are not bad, but they are not great either...I will definitely not recommend this place, specially for it's service. It makes me sick just to think of going in again, but probably I will as it's just a different option for this kind of food in Wilmington.
It's sad to look at their website and see them smiling (specially Jacqueline) and be there in person and be treated so badly. I really had higher expectations from someone that know the European...
Read moreTotally trash. It seemed like as soon as my wife daughter and I walked in we weren’t welcomed. It’s crazy busy, which is expected, but also close quarters so not super ideal. Regardless I told my pregnant wife to go sit with the baby. She was immediately told she’s usually supposed to wait to order and then be seated which she apologized and got up. But then the waitress told her to go sit at a different table which she did. However when I ordered I was told to go sit at the table my wife was originally at so I tell my wife to come back over. When our food comes out everything looks normal except a couple ingredients that were off. Later the waitress that asked my wife to move came over and said that because we moved we got the food that belonged to the table behind us and this table was supposed to be empty. And even though we still kept apologizing, rudely said that next time we need to tell them if we decide to move, even though I was assigned this table by the cashier. And why was food brought to our table regardless of it was supposed to be empty. We don’t usually make a stink over things, but from start to finish we just did not feel welcome there. Not to mention my crepe was very undercooked. Probably...
Read moreThis was my first time eating a crepe. I normally have a pretty good appetite. If you're a hungry person I don't recommend just getting a crepe. They are very thin and you are mostly getting whip cream for over $10. There isn't a thick filling of anything. It's all pretty thin. So it won't fill you up. I saw there was something that included eggs etc you definitely need something bigger. It might work better as a dessert spot for people who like crepes. I won't be returning for lunch. I don't know how french people survive on just one of those for a meal. Maybe try a loaded croissant or something. I'm just saying you will be disappointed if you just order a crepe. They may take up most of the plate but its probably equal to one little pancake. That just might be how crepes are. It was my first experience but ordering multiple crepes will get mighty expensive for lunch they aren't cheap to compare my appetite I normally eat 2 or 3 pieces of pizza at a time or 1 cheeseburger. I guess I'm pretty normal it just was not filing at all. I almost felt like I...
