I had the the Pulled Pork Bennie. This mouthwatering dish is a true showstopper. The succulent pulled pork, paired with perfectly roasted potatoes drizzled with hollandaise sauce, is a match made in culinary heaven. The amount of effort, energy, and flavor that goes into those potatoes is remarkable. It's safe to say that this dish has set the bar high for all other meals I've had this year.
Beyond the incredible food, the staff at Drift are friendly, attentive, and make you feel like a valued guest. Their genuine warmth and hospitality create an inviting atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience. Furthermore, the facility itself is impeccably clean, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic environment for all patrons.
While the service may have been slightly slower on Black Friday, it is understandable given the holiday rush. Despite the business, the staff remained attentive and ensured that every need was met. Their dedication to providing excellent service shines through, even during peak times.
In conclusion, Drift Coffee and Kitchen in Wilmington, NC, is a culinary destination that should not be missed. With their exceptional coffee options, unforgettable dishes, and friendly staff, it is a true haven for food enthusiasts. I highly recommend paying them a visit and experiencing their culinary delights for yourself. I, for one, cannot wait to return on my next trip...
Read moreOn December 16th I experienced this disappointing coffee time at Drift Cafe. I find the food and service great but forget about this Drift location if you want to stop in for a coffee and pastry between 3 and 5pm. Yesterday as I'm having coffee and waiting for my sisters to join me, a staff member starts sweeping the floors, pulling the chairs away from the tables and Moping the floors and it's not even 3:30. Called my sisters and told them to forget about joining me. When I asked at the counter why that was being done with customers in the Cafe she said they stopped serving lunch at 3pm and I thought, then why do they stay open till 5pm. Here is a cafe/coffee shop in the prime New Hanover Shopping Center, located next to Home Sense and other great stores showing their would be customers, even at Christmas time Shopping, that if they come in for coffee and conversation, they will have to watch the floors being cleaned and feel they shouldn't be there. I must apologize to the staff member who thanked me for coming in as I was leaving sooner than expected, because it was her job to clean the floors and I didn't respond to her. She was just being told what to do. I'm just disappointed because I thought I had found a coffee shop where I could stop in most days after 3pm to meet friends or just have some quiet time by myself and not be in a atmosphere with a cleaning crew. Even the three ladies who were about to come in as I was leaving decided not to stay after opening the door and seeing the cafe was in the end of the day...

This next part is for the OWNERS! PLEASE give this girl a raise, this level of hospitality is not something you come across often, and is a larger asset to your business than you may realize.
Whatever you’re paying your workers, you should increase it at least $2 to keep up with inflation. They should be making at MINIMUM $16-20 an hr. (Even that is low for this economy)
Let me be clear, you know what you’re doing, I’ve seen y’all in meetings with your software developers while I’m having lunch, I can tell you’re putting a lot of money into marketing, branding, and expanding your locations.
However!!! The backbone of how successful your cafes are comes down to your baristas and chefs. They are doing the hardest part with the lowest pay, and if you overlook this for too long, you’ll damage your reputation in the community, and will struggle to hire replacements. There’s already certain locations I wont go to bc the service is lower quality than the price I’m paying.
If there’s anything you take from this, I hope it’s that if you pay a livable wage, your employees will make you more money than your...
