I tried to be patient with this fair for years, but the issues have become too inconvenient to ignore, first of all, they do not own the goodwill property so they shouldn't get that upset about people not paying for parking when they park at goodwill, if I'm not on THEIR property I'm not paying them, they don't allow new guest past 9 because they don't want you to park off property, they started making the goodwill people charge people to park there, then there's the clear bag policy, which feels like a privacy violation because everyone can see everything you carry, including personal products, medical items, and any valuables you have, most of the people at the vendors are rude as hell, they have the audacity to charge 8$ for a 12oz cup of lemonade, and when you comment on it, they get personally offended and mock you like a toddler would, literally had someone use a whiney childish voice and repeat back the comments to us when we mentioned it, I know the fair is targeted at children, but grow up! That's not how you speak to people, nobody wants to pay 15 dollars for a microwaved burrito that I could get for 3$ at Taco Bell with more ingredients then just overly processed cheese and beans, you guys are grown adults, and you are mocking people like a child, the guy at the "guess your age" game constantly makes rude comments about people's weight and appearances, half the items sold by the vendors are filthy, it's literally stuff you would buy off temu, and it's all expensive, it's just not worth it, I bought a crystal bracelet and a necklace for 27$ only to discover that the bracelet isn't real crystal, even though it's marked as such on the tag, which is false advertisement and a blatant lie, I'm still happy with it because I got it for a reason that brought me joy, but I'm mad that they lied about the material, all the games are rigged, the claw machine doesn't even attempt to grab any prizes, you get it, the typical complaints people usually make about carnivals, I wasn't going to say anything at the beginning, but mocking people and lying to people is crossing a line, the price went up and the quality went down, just like everything else, do...
Read moreIf you are one of those people still whining about the name change, get over it, the old name had a racist history, if you have a problem with society moving forward and away from racism, get a life, and stop being heartless, this fair is great, the food and drinks are a little overpriced but the fair in Lexington is way worse! Every fair is gonna be like that, so don't judge this one, okay, the rides seem fun but I usually only ride one or two, I love the vendors here, especially the fidget toy vendor!! Although if you have anxiety it might be difficult for you to be here, there's always a lot of people, I've never encountered a fight or anything like that happen here, police patrol all throughout the fairgrounds, although I witnessed someone steal 10 or 13 bracelets from one of the vendors and nobody did anything about it, another vendor accused me and my siblings of stealing something, we pointed to where we set it, and the woman just chuckled and said "where?" Without even looking, some of the people here can be rude, I won't lie there, and all the games are rigged so you can't win anything, but that's every carnival/fair, it's not right but you can't judge one for something they all do, the crane machines are fun at least, but don't spend a ton of money, I have gotten prizes from the machines before! A fairly large Disney store plushie actually! But don't spend a lot of money because you probably won't get anything, overall the fair is really fun and this one in particular means a lot to me, I'm glad to see it continue to grow and be progressive in the way they handle inclusivity, thank you so much for being the...
Read moreIts a lot of fun for the kids. They were the only ones who enjoyed their time. We were lucky enough to visit on military appreciation day and were afforded free admission. If this were not the case, i would be severly upset with the outcome of the visit. It's not what it used to be. I'll admit the rides and live shows are plentiful and seemed to be well maintained. With this being said, the rude ride attendies along with the entirely backwards ride height requirements made for a headache. I may be totally wrong but a child (riding with their parent) who qualifies to ride the turnover ride (spinning cars) should be more than capible of walking through a simple fun house (the german themed one). However after the first attendant cleared me and my son, another came hustling around the corner to stop us as we entered. I complied and stood back with my son as my other children entered and we watched in awe as other children much smaller than my son were admitted. I fully understand that "rules are rules" but they dont mean jack when you pick and choose who they apply to. I give ammends to the gentlemen running the mechanical bull though, out of all the employees i interacted with, he remained the friendliest and most welcoming of them. The demolision derby was fun and a joy to watch. All in all, my kids were happy so i offer three stars, however if I weren't considering the free admission, id take my...
