Worst safety procedure ever. I took my son of 5 years old tubing for the first time. Unfortunately, this was the worst experience ever. It was our first turn, my son went down with his cousin first and I went after. When I was approaching the bottom, my son was standing in the middle of the path, and unfortunately, I hit him with my tube and he slam his head on the ice. While he was screaming and crying out of pain, 2 workers were standing there watching the whole thing happen without even offering to assist. They start arguing with me of why I went down the slide without a signal from the guy who was sending people down. I asked them why the guy at the top of the slide did not use his walkie talkie to let them know that I was going down so they could move my son and her cousin from the path, right? This is a basic safety protocol. My son was hurting and did not want to tubing anymore and wanted to rest in our car. I decided to call to ask As soon as i got in the car, he went to sleep. On our way back to Denver, my son vomited, and 15 minutes after he vomit again. Before we left, I called to speak with the manager by the name of Colt. I asked for a refund since I we did not stay for the whole hour but he refused to get me my money back. on our way back to Denver, my son vomited the first time ever! His face was so pale, he started acting very lethargic. After the second vomit, I decide to take him to and ER. We ended up going to Children's hospital Colorado, where we spend over 8 hours. He had a closed head injury and they have to give him some medicine and a CT scan. We were able to go home after 10pm. The staff of the tubbing place did not perform a basic safety protocol, nor they tried to assist my son when he slammed his face on the floor and he was screaming, nor did they seem to care. The manager ( Colt ) never asked me about how was my son doing, if we needed any assistance, not even where the closest hospital was, knowing how hard the hit to my sons head was. All they care about is getting their money. The customer experience was horrible. Below is a copy of the paper work I received my the children hospital in...
Read moreIt’s a mixed experience that you should try it at least once!
The location of the Coke Tubing park at Winter Park is the best part. The tubing area is next to the village gondola’s parking lot. This makes access much more practical for tubing only customers.
It took me 3 years to try it! I found the price a little pricey, but you are paying for location, staff and grooming equipment which is expensive.
What I liked… well groomed tubing paths, isolating each tube row from the other. The rows are categorized in speed as ‘Fast’ (track #1), ‘Medium’ (track #2) and ‘Slow’ ( track #3). The tube park has a full facility with restrooms, warming area (inside), snacks and the ticket office. they have slow tubes, fast tubes and 2 person tubes.
What I did not like… long lines to go down the slides, as each hour includes very large groups of 20-30 people. So you spend a lot of time waiting. It had not been the best snow season, so in the most part is made snow.
Overall experience: The picture of tubing in my mind is open space and you enjoy the snow. The idea of a tube park it’s still something to get used too!
I would recommend the experience at least once! I would suggest to...
Read moreWe tubed in Fraser as well as at Winter Park, and each have their pluses and minuses. Winter Park excels at providing a safe experience due to covid - masks are required and you will be asked to pull your mask up if it slips down.
The Winter Park team also runs these tubing hills similar to a water park. Someone at the top sends the rider down, only after hearing the route is clear from another team member via walkie talkie (Fraser hills are also fun, but it's much more free range and chaotic, with a higher risk of getting hit by another rider). Although you can NOT hold a child on your lap, you ARE able to connect multiple tubes together. We had our 4 yr old there and it wasn't a problem - he loved it!!
DEFINITELY need to reserve your spot in advance (they were booked out 2 weeks in advance over the holidays) - we ended up going twice. Once at the end of their day (3pm) and then the next morning at 10am. Later in the day the hill is MUCH faster after the groomed or fresh snow has been packed down. Morning also fun though - we didn't need a ton of speed and my kids enjoyed it just as much because it felt like we were the first ones on...
