Meijer — Attraction in Woodhaven

We have shopped at this meijer since day one when it opened and most of the time it has been a good experience, but this past christmas was a disaster for me and especially my visitors over the holiday. I placed an order for a party tray and to be picked up on 12/24 around 4pm, but to my surprise my relatives were coming in a day earlier so I changed my pickup date to 12/23 around 11 am, got an e-mail confirming the change. Went to pick it up and low and behold it isn't ready and was told my pickup was scheduled for 12/24. I explained to the lady in the deli that I changed my pickup to 12/23 five days ago meaning 12/18 and it was approved and that I got an e-mail stating so. She proceeded to tell me to get the e-mail because she has no such request. So I had to panic and find somewhere to get a party tray in just a few hours and thankfully Kroger was able to save the day. My suggestion to anyone who orders a party tray and then needs to change the pickup date to go into the meijers store and physically talk to someone at the deli and get a confirmation that way, because it seems that the deli department does not follow up on their...

I don’t normally shop at this location but my fiancé and I decided to stop here after leaving the park with our daughter. Soon as we get to the self checkout service the employee that was there was giving my fiancé dirty looks as she was walking over to us. She stood directly behind us, arms folded, and would not take her eyes off my fiancé, the whole time. My fiancé was the only black person in that area.. the rest were white. We made eye contact with her at least three times, and she still would not take her eyes off him. Not once had she even looked around to any other customers “that could had been stealing” because she was to focus on the only black male that was in the self check out service. When it came time to pay he realized that he forgot his wallet in the truck. Soon as he leaves to go get it she walks away. I wanted to confront her but my fiancé said not to because he did not want no confrontation so I decided to call when I got home to leave a formal complaint. Just came back from the Woodhaven Mi. Meijers and as usual, the produce there was substandard. Bought 1 (soft) green pepper for .99 only because needed it for a recipe. Bought 1 bag of scrubby narrow carrots. Went to Trentwood on my way back home and bought a large FRESH green pepper for .88 ! Trentwood is usually higher in price - but I’ve been noticing lately that Meijers prices are going up passing Trentwood Farm Mkt. and the quality at Meijers is going down, down down. The quality of Krogers produce in Southgate is much better than Meijers. You guys just spent a fortune on remodeling this store and you screwed its up royal! Before the area where your bread was located was great. Now it’s scattered all over the place. After today I’m doing my shopping at Meijers in Southgate and if that store does what your store did, I’m going across the street to Krogers where I have to put up with their dingbat hidden coupons that you have to sign in on in order to make it happen.
