Post-wedding review: ๐ฌ 2 - 7.17.21 we finallllllllly did it! ๐๐๐ฐ๐คต - Where to begin? There are so many amazing things about the Westmount Country Club wedding venue in NJ, that it's impossible to cram it all in to a written review. Hands down the best experience of my life. After working in restaurant industry for 10 years, and being someone that notices every last detail, very rarely will I say any business is absolutely perfect, but Westmount is and I'd stake my reputation on this recommendation. Fred, is the man to ask for. After proposing on August 10th 2018, we began our journey for a venue to host the wedding of our dreams. After seeing 5 or 6 other wedding venues, my fiance and I quickly came to the conclusion that nothing could top what Fred and the Westmount delivered when her twin sister got married there a couple years earlier. When we came back, Fred treated us like family, and we locked in our original date, 10.11.2020....but like most, that was unfortunately delayed. But, the Westmount made the transition to our new date seamless. Fast forward to tasting day this past June, and Fred greeted us with a feast ๐ ๐ค๐จโ๐ณ and helped us put the finishing touches on our special day. Just days before the wedding we found out our aunt would not be able to attend, and Fred was a hugeeee help making sure I could get a zoom cast setup so that she could still do our reading. The wedding went off without a hitch, and probably 180 out of our 200 guests were blown away at the cocktail hour alone. The rooms are gorgeous, so is the patio with beautiful waterfalls and a westward facing venue room that delivers the most remarkable sunsets anyone could ask for. The ceremony was absolutely gorgeous, which we did inside because of the heat. The reception took the cake ๐, no pun intended ๐. Every moment we needed Fred, he was there, but never in the way and just on top of his game. The food was absolutely amazing, everyone from the servers, to the bus staff, kitchen, billing, parking and anyone in between was really amazing. All I wanted after almost 14 years together, a three year engagement and a few obstacles along the way was to see my fiance โ๐, I mean wife (still gotta get used to that) with the biggest smile of her life on her face all night long; and the smile exceeded even my expectations. Our night would not have been the same without Fred and the Westmount. And, with a big Italian family, that has now been to the Westmount three times, you know the food is phenomenal. No matter what life throws at you on your special day, I can say with absolute confidence the Westmount is the wedding venue that can handle it!!! Congrats to any newly Weds that are reading this! Enjoy your day ๐ and one piece of advice that was given to us, before the night is over, when the dance floor is pumping (shout out to Long Island Sound DJ) take your new partner in life, walk off to the side and just soak it all in, the decor, the venue, the atmosphere and most importantly your loved ones, because it's a feeling you'll want to remember!!!!!

BOOKING: I looked at 12 different wedding venues in NJ before someone suggested I check out the Westmount. I met with Bobby and immediately knew this was the place for our wedding. He was the only person we met with that didn't make us feel like he was totally taking advantage of us - unlike the 12 other banquet managers we met with at other places. Just make the appointment and you will not be disappointed.
VENUE: When we pulled up the venue we were already impressed. The grounds were beautiful. When you open two oversized glass doors, you walk up marble floor steps to a gorgeous lobby. Very classy and elegant. We got married in the Continental room. The gardens and gazebo made for such a stunning and unique ceremony space. The cocktail hour room was the coolest and classiest room I have ever had the pleasure of stepping foot in. But the reception room takes the cake! It over looks the hills of Woodland Park and guests can walk out to a beautiful terrace. The sunset in the background of my first dance was breathtaking. My guests especially loved cigars and cognac on the terrace at the end of the night. Also - everything in this place is always updated and new! When we booked it 2 years prior the room looked completely different! Bobby says they renovate every 5 years. That really says something!
SERVICE: I wish I could give the Westmount 100 stars for service alone. Bobby was always easy to reach through text or phone call to answer any of my questions throughout the planning process. The service on the night of the wedding surpassed our expectations by far. My husband and I and both of our parents were treated like royalty and that is no understatement. Mr. Tom and Mr. Andrew made sure our drinks and plates were never empty. Bobby oversaw the entire operation and made sure everything was flawless - which it was!
FOOD: The amount of food that is offered for the price you are paying is unmatched! We are italian and we like our food and OH BOY does this place deliver! We even had a tasting a year prior to the wedding which blew our socks off (not many venues offer tastings). The cocktail hour blew our guests away from lobster mac and cheese to sushi to peter lugar steaks it was never-ending! The entrees were delicious as well. How often do you go to a wedding and actually enjoy your dinner? Everyone is still raving about the food. I also recommend the Viennese hour! It was unbelievable.
I could go on and on about how amazing this place is. When you have guest after guest coming up to you telling you this is the best wedding they have ever been to, that really says something. WCC is worth every penny to make your wedding day...
ย ย ย Read moreI attend a fundraiser that is hosted at the Westmount every year. I look forward to this charity event with every inch of my being, but MORE THAN THAT, I am thrilled to be at the Westmount. From the desk staff who aren't bothered by our "little" asks... (*Scissors, tape, a marker) to the wait staff, this place can't be beat.
Ms Karen, who was on site with us from early in the morning until I left (last one out the door) is nothing short of amazing. Her kindness and attention to detail is second to none. I am sure she meets thousands of people a year, but she remembers us, by name. Impressive! We even had one of our Camp Staff have an emergency. Karen offered a staff member to get her to the hospital safely AND came back around at the end of the night to check on this family. Who does that??
The concierge and the team of employees who handled our expensive, some priceless, auction gifts, were careful and quick! We got through over 350 prizes in no time. Gifts were rolled into the main room, saving our very limited volunteer pool from hours of extra work.
Dinner was served quickly and to all simultaneously, allowing our guests to focus on each other and the cause.
COCKTAIL HOUR... I don't know how anyone had room for dinner - the food was fresh and delicious, expertly presented and I couldn't stop myself from indulging. The staff made sure that the volunteers were well taken care of. At other venues, those working at the event are often forgotten.
Mr Mike, Mr Sonny and the bar - what a crew! Let me tell you about my watermelon margarita... Holy frijole!! Crafted perfectly and rimmed with sugar, just like I like it - the bar staff were funny and friendly and kind.
Dessert was also on point - hot tea and coffee flowed and the cookies, pastries and chocolate dipped strawberries were the perfect end to a perfect evening.
BUT WAIT, there's more - I blinked and the room was clean, set up and ready to go for the next guests. MINUTES after we exited, so did the staff, their hard work complete!
Clearly I would highly recommend THE Westmount Country Club to anyone looking for a picturesque, impeccably clean, centrally located from 150 major highways, venue. No detail was left out.
Thank you for everything and most of all, thank you for helping us help the kids of Camp Sunshine/Camp Snowflake! See you in...
