I only leave reviews if i had great or bad experience! THIS IS A BAD EXPERIENCE!
I have a ps5 that was overheating! I got a quote for a repair for 170 from another vendor but the warranty was only 10 days!
I tried to give this place a shot (Game Box Fix) as the guy qouted me 120 to 240. IMPORTANT! He said he woukd call me if it was in the 240 range
I told him to call me when he had an estimate as i was not willing to pay 240 to fix my ps5
I HAD to put down 90 for a deposit! Which i was not explained what the deposit was for! I went along like a gullible little kid!
VERY IMPORTANT! The repairs are NOT done there! Its sent to a warehouse in chicago somewhere. REGARDLESS, took them 2 weeks get it repaired! YES 2 weeks! Other places I called told me 2 days tops!!
ALSO the guy doing the sale called me about 10 days in asking me what was wrong with the ps5! SHOULDNT THE TECH KNOW THAT!!??
SO i get a call exactly two weeks later from initial drop-off date,and the guy says its repaired! I asked how much was the repair! Guy couldn t even tell me right away! REALLY! RED FLAG!
I call 2 days later to arrange pick up and he tells me the price is 240!?
I NEVER received any call or warning letting me know it would be that much! I was never given a chance to decline service! Its my fault i assumed the deposit was a diagnostic fee! I was wrong!
WHO does a repair before consenting with owner? I NEVER was given the chance to decline service!! Keep in mind i told them their competitor was less money at 170, and i came to them for a better deal! Nope! They just wanted to scam me for a ridicoulous price!
I think they would have scammed for more money if they could, as i have to take their word for it they fixed the problem. Only gave me a 30 day warranty!
I M very dissatisfied with Game Box Fix! I will Never do business with them again! GO anywhere else before going here! This is the WORSE game repair experience i ve ever had!
2 weeks to fix( they ship your stuff out) repairs prices are ridicoulous! 240! I could buy a new ps5 at time of this writing for 600! -Forget getting customer service! You have no idea when you will get your stuff back or what the final price will be!
SHADY never again! If this helps one person it would give me some joy! STAY AWAY! Go to Wefixgames! At least they are honest...
Read moreFirst off will acknowledge that I sent my xbox one in for repair and from what i can tell it works like new. The issues appeared with the experience.
First off, they only accept cash. Id prefer to use a credit card because if they scam me you can always challenge the charges.
Second they gave an estimate of 100 to 150 to for the repair with the little clarity about the rational for the charge. When i picked it up the charge was 180.
Third, he said it would take two days and he'd call when it was ready. I finally called after 5 days and my xbox was back but he was out running errands so I couldnt pick it up. There was 4 fours until the end of the day according to their hours.
Fourth, when i did come to pick it up the next day he was a couple hours late and I had to wait.
Just horrible customer service, but the xbox works. If you are looking for punctuality, transparent pricing, and open communication, I wouldn't go here, but if all that matters is the job gets done they can...
Read moreI took my son's PS4 here January 7th because it was shutting off (I was quoted 110-160 and was told "possibly" 2 wks for the fix). I called a few times to get updates/details and was told "we will call you when it's fixed." On February 21st, I got the message it was repaired...great! When I got back in town to pick it up, I hooked it up immediately and it did the same thing that I brought it in for. I called to let them know and was told nicely "it is still under the 30 day warranty so bring it back in." I will bring it back in and hopefully I can give a positive update about this experience, but it has been a long and costly time with no working PS4 (I paid 160.), and I can't help but feel regretful. I'm hoping it will not be another 6 weeks or extra cost...or if they can't fix it, I respect an honest "we can't fix it, here's a refund" so that I can make other arrangements.
