Recently we made the difficult decision that it was time to find a memory care facility for our beloved mother. After many considerations, discussions and investigation work on our part, we opted for Bayshire Yorba Linda Memory Care. In the days & months leading up to her placement at Bayshire, mom’s mental condition was drastically declining. She spent most days coloring, watching the neighbors out her front window, watching the same television programs, refusing to go outside, and rarely speaking when spoken to. Now, three months after coming to Bayshire she is a different person. Though her memory issues have declined, she has become very active inside the memory care making friends, participating in crafts, activities, going outside, going on planned excursions. She’s seems happier, more engaged and, once again, enjoys going outside. She recently told us that, ‘this is a good place for me’, reassuring my sister and I that we made the right choice. And the staff!!! From our entrance through the front door to the interactions with all the memory care workers, service is impeccable! Everyone in memory care is most generous, friendly, caring and helpful, and extremely kind and attentive to our mother, for which we are beyond grateful. We know mom is in the best place possible. Thank you Bayshire and most especially, the memory care staff. You are all...
Read moreDo not let the nice exterior fool you. This facility is rated 1 star for a good reason. The care is abysmal boarding on dangerous. I removed my mother from this facility for poor patient care; she was in such a deteriorated state of health. The director of Nursing stated, "If you do not like the care that your mother is getting, move her" after I brought up the many deficiencies in her care. The staff never had the paperwork ready and needed when we went to her doctor. She would wait over 1 hour (I timed it many times) before a care giver would come to her after she buzzed for help, by then I had either did it myself or had to search the hall and nurses station to find help. She had a PICC line and they did not know how to draw blood from it. The Phlebotomists would come and try to draw blood by sticking her arm. They would neglect to clean and change the bandage around her G-tube on a daily basis. The Doctor had to issue orders that it would be changed daily and they still would not do the dressing change. In the meantime I was searching for another facility that could take her. On her last day there her doctor had to insist that they call 911 to send her to hospital emergency her health was so deteriorated. The emergency room documented the bed sores that she had...
Read moreDo not place your loved one here or any of the Bayshire communities! Even after bringing our concern to the Executive Director via email including the Corporate Director of Operations, they both said, in writing, we can't accommodate you so just move out. Even staff members have heard the Executive Director say that to the residents. Although the staff is great and do their best, they are always short handed, so your loved one will suffer. The food leaves a lot to be desired and if a guest or family member wants to join their loved one for a meal they charge $20! So not worth it, it's terrible food and they don't have a chef, just basic cooks! I could go on and on how disappointed we are since Serento Rosa got purchased by Bayshire, we were promised new flooring and window coverings, fresh paint, new washer/dryers, throughout the community along with better care, etc and haven't received any of it. They continue to just keep repairing things wirh their maintenance staff. WE DO NOT...
