Walking down Downing street Cambridge, your eyes are caught by the colourful banner hung outside the Zoology buildings. An archway brings you into the museum courtyard, a small flight of steps or a ramp for wheelchair and mobility users brings you straight to the door of the Whale gallery. A superb complete specimen of a Fin whale skeleton floats over your head, in the Entrance and shop areas. A short ramp down brings you straight into the Zoology museum galleries. What a superb and vast display of so many creature over two floors. A lift is available between the floors also. The museum has recently had a full overhaul and the new modern display cases are superb and well designed displaying the objects superbly. A must for any budding Zoologists for sure, or just a great place for a family visit. All can be rounded off with a trip through the gift shop and refreshments in the upstairs cafè accessed by either curly staircase or a lift. All in all it was a fantastic visit.

Amazing museum with free entry. This museum holding a wide range of info about all kinda animals, birds, insects n many more which is not only interesting for kids but for the whole family from kids, young to old. There’s variety of preserved animals, skeletons and bones, from horses, giraffes, elephants, rhino, birds, insects, reptiles and specimens in jar more. There u can also see the beetles collection of Charles Darwin. You need bit time to walk around as there’s so much interest things to see. Even I lost myself in that world. The museum has a modern displays in almost every corner of the space spreading on two levels. There is a video projecting images on the ceiling, providing a lovely visual aspect to the space. There’s a cafe upstairs and a beautifully presented shop at the entrance as well as a giant skeleton of blue whale. I really enjoyed this Museum. On top of that staff is really cool n friendly.

Although the attractive weirdness of these creatures makes me excited about the variety of life, I also find it very bizarre to keep them on display like this… hello strangers… Natural history museums display and store preserved animals in such a way that they, at first glance, appear to be living, but in reality they are lifeless and fixed in position. When these specimens are photographed, their stillness becomes further frozen in time. It’s been an amazing experience helping to curate the Butterflies Through Time exhibition alongside the brilliant team. The exhibition features butterflies from the museum’s storeroom and highlights how the collection is being used to guide contemporary conservation.

Lovely museum! I went with my 2 year old and 5 year old and they absolutely adored it the excitement gleaming from them! There is no charge for entry they have a gift shop also! I'd recommend highly the only reason I give it 1 less star is we visited the cafe and the server was soooo rude ! Even though the cafe stated it was open till 4 we got there at 2.30 and just got s coffee and a couple of cake slices and she goes well I'm closing in 15 mins you can sit outside. Which we did not we sat in side the cafe and was felt so rushed to finish she was scowling from the tills. I would not visit the cafe again and wouldn't recommend.
