Wachirabenchathat park (or commonly known as Rot Fai Park) is located adjacent to Chatuchak park; separated by Kamphaengphet 3 Road. If arriving at Chatuchak MRT station either walk across Chatuchak park towards Kamphaengphet 3 Road (25 minute walk) OR take a taxi from the MRT station to the main entrance 5 minute drive . At the main entrance you have the opportunity to hire a bicycle for ฿30 /hour. There are 100s of bicycles available. If you want to explore the park a bicycle is recommended…. It’s a huge park. As it’s further away from the busy road you become aware of the quiet atmosphere. The only sounds are bird song and the irrigation sprinklers. There are numerous facilities for the fitness enthusiasts, young and old. Either before or after you explore the park visit the Thitaree Restaurant (located at the main entrance) they offer an extensive menu and the food tastes as good as it looks in the menu photos. (Makes a change:) The park is wheelchair friendly and service dogs are allowed into the park. If your personal safety is a concern be assured that the parks are patrolled by security personnel and they are stationed at each entrance gate & car parks.

Bangkok city’s getaway park. One of my favorite place to relax and exercise. In Thai we call it “Suan Rot Fai” meaning railways public park because before the park was transformed into a public park, it was a golf course that belonged to the State Railway of Thailand. It is one of the most popular parks in Bangkok. Not only for exercising, people like to come here for their graduation photos and pre wedding photos. I usually come here for biking. It has a separate track for running and biking around the park which is winding 2.5km. In front of the park there is a lot of bicycles rental shop with various kinds to choose from. Inside the park, there is a lake where visitors can rent paddleboats to go around the lake. During weekends people usually come here for picnic with friends anf family. There is also a beautiful butterfly garden and insectarium for education. Free entry for students at any level. Btw, there’s several ponds in the park which the giant lizard live in. It’s look scary but it’s sure they are more scared of us. Make a loud noise to chase them out of your way.

Rot Fai Park is one of Bangkok's green spaces or zones, a park which consists actually of three parks together. Rot Fai Park is very popular for local people to spend leisure time, but it's - like other parks in Bangkok - popular among the bird watchers, too. My own bird watching trip to Rot Fai wasn't at all a success, almost no birds were seen, so we enjoyed to walk around in Bangkok's hot and sweaty weather. Rot Fai Park and the other park in Bangkok, Lumpini Park, are easy parks for tourists, too, real city parks in a good sense of the word, parks where to exercise or just to sit - whereas Benjakiti Park look more like natural habitat for birds and other small animals. In Rot Fai Park there are many artworks to admire, too. All three above mentioned parks are good places to see Thailand's local birds, and during the spring / autumn time to see even rarer vagrant birds. Bangkok is an overcrowded city with all too many cars and traffic jams. Green zones like Rot Fai Park are important places to breath, to sit in peace, and relax.

This park is AMAZING. We first went to the Chatuchak Park then made our way here. We loved the butterfly garden which is a pretty enclosure full of butterflies and lovely flowers. Then the most amazing highlight is the sunflowers, there was a huge sunflower field that is so stunning and a great place to take photos and walk around. This whole park is great for a walk, run or just to sit and relax. We would definitely recommend coming here, we did walk this park just before going to the weekend market also. The walk was approximately 6-7km total if you complete a full loop going to the Queen Sirikit Park (which is so pretty) also and it’s very flat. It’s quite exposed so be SunSmart! Toilets are located in this park and we saw a cafe here too. “Jonique Life” If you find value in our reviews please consider following our social media outlets on Facebook and Instagram as we highlight magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

The most relaxing park in Bkk for me. When I step inside the park, I feel so relaxed and fresh. There is a dog friendly space as well. You can rent a bike to cycling around the park. The price starting from 30 thb for a crappie one 😆. The cycling trail is really cool and do beautiful along the way. I saw several fad lizard, they probably living their best life here. During the cycle trail I spot a turtle 🐢 and many birds. They also have butterfly dome, several butterfly in there. Sadly the water building was not running when I was there. Every time I go in the morning they close it but I saw it once in the afternoon. After fishing cycling, walking around the park is a must thing to do. There is a lotus field and gorgeous pedestrian to walk around and taking some cool pictures.
