Mani Guest House — Hotel in Bashkia Gjirokastër

I'm not used to leaving reviews on Google, but this place deserves everything good that can be said about it. I don't really know where to start, but I can sum everything up in one word: Wonderful. The location of the guest house is impressive. They have a little terrace from which you can see the whole city under, behind and around you. It is such a nice place. We had an amazing dinner combined with such an amazing view, but I'll get to that later. The rooms are fantastic, comfortable and cozy. The whole place looks welcoming and chill. All I could feel was peace. The food was amazing. We had dinner and breakfast and everything was so tasty. Dinner was delicious and in the perfect amount. Nothing was left but we were perfectly full. The same with breakfast. Delicious food to have energy to spend the day climbing the streets of the city. And finally, the people. All of them are wonderful. I don't think there's another word to describe them. They are so nice and attentive. They took extremely good care of us, and even asked us if they could do something for our friend, who was sick and stayed the afternoon sleeping in the room. Really genuine people that make a stay in a beautiful city magical. I'm so grateful for having experienced all of this. If I ever go to Albania again, I know for a fact a place I'm going back to. Perfect stay, perfect family. Such a lovely guest house. Easy to find, private parking and wonderful location. Be mindful, it’s a steep walk up the hill to the castle/bazaar but Gjirokaster is a hilly location so i assume that will be the same with all accommodation. We were upgraded to the triple bed room with the garden view. The room was very clean and the view was utterly breathtaking. So peaceful. (Another bonus: very cute cat)

We had a great stay at Guest House Mani, despite reading some negative reviews beforehand. Most complaints didn’t match our experience at all. While you can’t park directly at the house, there’s a free spot 10 minutes away — not an issue for us. The bathroom was small but totally fine for two people. Our room (Triple with Mountain View) had plenty of space for our stuff, and the shared garden felt private and peaceful. The hosts were very welcoming, even offering cold water on arrival, and the amenities were better than expected.
