Silk Road Hotel was an amazing experience more than simply a hotel. When you first walk into the hotel you see many Armenian souvenirs and carpets for sale. ||The hotel desk workers were always friendly and willing to answer questions about Yerevan or Armenian sites to visit including historical Churches and other sites of interest. I loved watching the lady downstairs who was making an Armenian Carpet during breakfast time and it was fun to see her work so carefully to craft a colorful and creative design carpet by hand.||The bed was good nice and the room was very cozy. I had a fantastic view of the mountains right outside my hotel window as well as beautiful Armenian Orthodox Churches. It was a really neat experience being around so many guests from different parts of the world and the nature of the hotel actually allowed for conversations with other guests as outdoor tables and delicious breakfast food including eggs and toast made it memorable. The best way to describe it is an old Hercule Poirot film with nice accommodations and a very international environment that lends itself to cultural exchanges which for the Silk Road Hotel was a perfectly named venue for this! ||Another aspect I will never forget is the stray cat who came up the stairs beyond the garden to join me outside for breakfast that was fun as she became my faithful companion. And it is worth going out and walking around the garden itself as that differentiated this hotel from most. If you want to feel like you are staying at a chain hotel then this isn’t the place for you but if you are looking for a culturally enriching experience then by all means check out the Silk Road Hotel and I hope to visit...
Read moreI cannot thank the staff of the Silk Road Hotel enough for a fabulous stay in Armenia. This amazing group of (mostly) young people made sure our every need was attended to. They are friendly, attentive, serious, committed. They gave us great advice where to go, where to eat and drink, where to buy, what to see. We learned a great deal about Armenian culture thanks to this special hotel-museum, particularly about carpet making. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The garden is a gem and it is a delight to sit there in the evening when a cool breeze is blowing. The breakfast is delicious, extremely generous and varied (we stayed for a week and every day there were different goodies). We also had dinner and drinks at the hotel several times and the food and wine were good and very reasonable. Perhaps the only slight drawback is that the hotel is a fairly short walk from the centre of town, but you soon get used to it and the many advantages make it worthwhile. Don't look any further, stay at the Silk Road Hotel...
Read moreWe had a family reunion in Yerevan this month. 9 of us stayed at Silk Road Hotel for 9 days .Could not be any better. The staff of this hotel were very professional, yet exceptionally kind and flexible. Thanks to Karine, Anna, Marrieta and George. This new hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood . Decorated with the most beautiful antique rugs and art pieces. It felt like a fancy home with a lovely floral garden. Easy access to the main road. Only 10-15 minutes walk to the Republic Square, Opera House & museums and activities in the center of Yerevan. Taxis were always available for a fee of 600 DRAMs ( a little over a dollar) to any destinations around the city. Room Prices were reasonable , breakfast included. Every morning Susan with a beautiful smile served breakfast. Plenty of hot & cold delicious food items. Very inviting...... In Armenia there is plenty of history and arts to discover and enjoy .
