Read moreI grew up playing in this park, when it was named after the great Russian poet Pushkin. It was huge park with a lot of big beautiful trees, wide nice paths covered with red sand and amusement park with a big variety of teeter-totters,swings and carousels. Unfortunately in 1990s after Soviet union fell apart, that beautiful park was partially sold and the rest of it ,the smallest part became an abandoned desert with drying trees and broken and ruined amusement park. The park was entirely renovated between 2005 and 2008 by the efforts of benefactor Albert Boghossian, Boghossian Foundation. We all are very very appreciate it and happy to see our garden( the rest of it ) in a good shape again. But park is not for kids anymore. There is no any play ground, carousels, not even lawn for running and playing on it for kids. Only one tiny sandbox which is getting cleaned once a while, after parents complain. And in addition it's surrounded with cafes and doesnt have enough space to fit all the kids from the neighborhood. Well, it is a great place for grownups, with open air movies...
