James Lane Fortitude Valley — Hotel in Brisbane City

Furniture was fine. Service was indifferent and rude. I ordered 2 bedside tables on the Saturday and was advised I could pick them up the following Saturday. I didn’t receive any notification they had arrived but we went into the store to pick them up the following Saturday. They told us the warehouse in Melbourne sent the wrong ones and they would be in next weekend - no apology! I had to ring twice on the Friday as no one let me know they had arrived. We went back in last Saturday to pick them up, he put them on a trolley and said ‘bring it back when you’re finished putting them in the car’! When we got them home one of the bedside tables was missing the screws to attach the legs. I rang to chase them up. He asked which bedside tables they were. I said I didn’t know as there was no description on the receipt they printed but we were just in the store half an hour ago. He rudely commented ‘there have been 2 couples in this morning I have no idea which one’. After having to look my number up he said he didn’t realise the bedside tables needed screws. He rang back and let me know he had acquired some screws.! I drove back in to get them to find the screws provided in a red bag had been ripped so must have been ripped off the box when putting onto the trolley. I honestly cannot recommend this company highly enough! We purchased a sofa lounger and a coffee table, and both pieces are absolutely beautiful and of outstanding quality. You can really tell the difference compared to many other stores.

What impressed us just as much as the furniture itself was their exceptional service. The delivery process was by far the best we experienced during our entire move. We had ordered furniture from a number of other places, and unfortunately, some of those experiences were quite stressful, but they were the best.

They were so flexible with us when we weren’t sure about our exact move-in date, and kindly stored our order until we were ready to receive it. On delivery day, the two gentlemen who brought our furniture were incredibly professional, careful, and respectful of our home. They handled everything with care, set up the pieces quickly, and left everything spotless.

The whole process, from purchase to delivery, was seamless and stress-free. We are beyond happy with our sofa and coffee table, and equally impressed with the level of service we received. Truly an outstanding company that goes above and beyond for...

Beware of your building and item dimensions before purchase and don’t rely on the sales staff for accurate advice. It will cost you.

I purchased a couch for delivery from the Fortitude Valley store that subsequently didn’t fit within my apartment. When the purchasing it, the sales rep that attended to me was friendly, however, I was told incorrect information about the couch dimensions for its delivery after enquiring about them and letting them know that I live in a small and narrow apartment complex. The sales rep advised that the couch was modular and would be separated in multiple parts for delivery and should fit within the building measurements I told him, which was outright false as it turned out to not be a modular couch model.

After an admittedly fast delivery, the couch arrived as a sole piece in one very large box, that didn’t fit within my apartment elevator or stairs. It had to be returned back to the store.

It took the store over a day to confirm that it would be refunded after its return, however, I was subsequently charged for redelivery fees back to the store on top of the original delivery fee. $200 wasted for nothing....
