This is our 5th time in Byron and we decided to spoil ourselves and book a luxury apartment. Were so disappointed in what was advertised on a Perfect Stays website. The apartment was filthy, the rug in the master bedroom was gross and should have been thrown out, the rug in the living room had a hole in it and the AC in the living room didnt work. Our holiday was interupted 3 times with the booking agent sending someone around to fix it. The place needed a good clean, the venetian blinds were black and grubby and had fly poo on them. This so called luxury apartment needs to have some $ spent on it to bring it up to scratch. Have stayed in much nicer digs in Byron for $2k less for the week, we paid $9k and all it had going for it was the location. I tried to email the booking agent on our return (at their request) and I have not had a response from them. To the owners, perhaps you need to spend some money on this apartment if you are looking at charging guests $9k for the week in...

The accommodation itself is spacious, with large rooms that offer plenty of facilities, making it perfect for families or groups. The apartments are well-equipped, providing everything needed for a comfortable stay.
One of the highlights for us was the fantastic pool, which is great for kids and a perfect spot to unwind. The location is unbeatable – just steps away from the beach, allowing easy access to the stunning Byron coastline. Additionally, it’s within walking distance to Main Street, where you’ll find a variety of cafes, restaurants, and even Woolworths for any essentials.

Read moreThe Bay Royal Apartments are well positioned across from the beach at Byron Bay and have expansive views of the coastline. They are also within a few minutes walk to the centre of the town.||My guess is that the complex is about 25 years old and our apartment was showing some signs of age. For example, the built-in microwave had been replaced with a cheaper store-bought replacement which was perched on a couple of loose pieces of timber and levelled up by screws wedged between. The stove is so old that the numbers showing the temperature settings were worn off and unreadable.||These, combined with other examples of wear are barely acceptable in cheaper accommodation, but should not be so for the daily tariff charged at the Bay Royal.||I noted that the next door apartment had been stripped clean in what I assume is preparation for renovation. I suggest that others may need to...
