I took my daughter for a special one to one lunch when we were encountered with the rudest waitress I've ever seen in my life. She didn't say a word to us, not even hello, stared at us when we were deciding what to order, rolled her eyes when we ordered and extra piece of sushi, gave us the food as if she was doing the biggest favour for us and didn't say a word either at the end when we paid. I know we aren't cool enough to hang out in Byron Bay, and she definitely made us feel so unwelcome and not good enough to be there. I was speechless by the way she was treating us, and I didn’t want to spoil my special time with my daughter even more. If you are her boss, do your business a massive favour and get rid of her. I won't dare to come into your restaurant again if I see her inside!

Edited to remove the description of the waitress as...

This is a very westernised Sushi spot. If you're looking for a lot of fried options then it's great! However it has a serious lack of options for different fish I think they only have tuna and salmon now. This may not be their fault and might actually just be a reflection of the market in Byron Bay as they used to stock Eel (which is delicious for those who've never tried it, but sadly wasn't very popular). Compared to other sushi restaurants in town who also stock king fish and eel the menu here is limited. I was excited by the fact that they served ramen but was very disappointed in the maggi noodles used for it. Overall the service is hit and miss, I've had both good and bad experiences here. Go to Japonaise Kitchen if you want a relatively cheap, limited...

To be honest, I was impressed by their food, I have never taste a bad ramen like this in my life. Highly recommand you guys try the spicy pork miso ramen, which i think should be renamed as get-cancered ramen. It's the first time i be served a ramen with some black inorganic substance floating in the soup.

On the other hand, the hostile cutomer service is stunning. The pest like manager will answer your question with you killed my dad face.

If you are Masochism, just help youself here, the short japanese manager will take you to the heaven.

However, if you are just an ordinary human being, please go to another place like bryronleaf etc, you will be welcomed with smile and care.

sum this place. a shame of japanese manner culture and a shame...

Very average... $25 for takeaway teriyaki salmon and prawn gyoza. The salmon came with rice, salad, a gyoza and mayo. The salmon was kinda warm, slightly dry, barely any sauce. The rice was warm-ish and clumpy. The salad was nice enough. The gyoza was pre-cooked and in a warming rack. Similar to a previous review, it was soggy. Thankfully it was saved by gently heating in a frypan and creating my own delicious dipping sauce... Which also served to enhance my salmon... Not sure if the other reviews are by people who don't eat Japanese food or perhaps dining in is a different experience... Would I go back? Hmmm good question...

Our first meal in Byron Bay and ended being so disappointed after reading so many good reviews. We ordered veggie Ramen, Prawn Ramen and Pork bowl rice which we paid 85 dollars all together. All the dishes were overly salty which we have let the restaurant owner know. The owner could not be care less enough just giving us a plain response in return. The veggie ramen was so plain given the price which we have to add extra tofu for 5 dollars that comes only 3 small pieces. We ate a few bites and left the place. Please avoid this restaurant as much as possible
