Pathetic and rude staff, worst service. I visited this restaurant while on a holiday to byron bay with my 4 month old baby, husband and my old age parents. My baby was bit unsettled, so we decided to take takeaway instead of dine in, so that we can go back to our hotel room and eat afterwards. We were told that it would take 20 mins to prepare the order. I enquired after 30 mins, still order was not ready. Then we waited for another 10 mins, and we were told to wait for another 5 mins. The people who came there for dine in after us had finished eating. We still waited for another 5 mins as they asked and still order was not ready. So the total waiting time now became 45 mins. I told them about my disappointment as my bub was unsettled. The waitress there starting saying that "oh as you can see we are busy at the moment", "we are short staffed" "we have to give preference to dine in". Usually, in such cases, any other person would have said "we are extremely sorry for the delay". But in this resturant the staff were rude, one of the male kitchen staff started shouting from the kitchen that they are busy and will try the best to prepare the order. From his statement it was very clear that they had not even started preparing our order after 45 mins. In that case, they should not have takeway service if they cant serve customer in timely manner. We also paid for the food, then how come its fair that we wait for so long to receive our order. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. At last, they cancelled the order after wasting our 45 mins. If there is an option, then i would give minus rating...In customer inconvenience, this restaurant would top. Never had such bad experience with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been visiting this restaurant for 6 years now and I can honestly say, it is the best Indian food in Byron, Ballina and Lismore Shires, maybe even the best you'll find in the whole northern rivers area. Believe me, I know what good food is because I come from a multicultural background, I have travelled to almost every continent and I know how to cook very well. Although I haven't been to India yet, I can honestly say that this is probably the closest thing you'll get to actual Indian food in India (depending on where in India you go). The dishes are very authentic and flavoursome with very aromatic spices; This is the kind of place where if you ask for something spicy, you will actually get something spicy which will make you pant, sweat and cry. That's how it should be at every Indian restaurant everywhere, but most places just serve you a mix of cream, sugar and MSG which tastes only of said products. I will always love and choose this restaurant as my go-to place whenever l am craving Indian food. I will continue to visit and would definitely recommend it, if it manages to sustain its good reputation. If this review doesn't convince you, I don't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot one to leave reviews unless Iām super impressed or super disappointed, and in this case itās unfortunately the latter.
Iām stunned how this restaurant has such high reviews. The food is well below average and for anyone to think itās anywhere close to authentic food⦠they really must have no idea about Indian food.
Daal tadka came with broccoli, carrots and curry leaves in it⦠errrrrr since when does daal tadka taste like Sambhar?
Garlic naan had raw garlic paste out of a jar smothered all over it. A few bites of this abomination of a naan and we couldnāt handle it any more. The Amritsari fish should be renamed Amritsari batter. There was hardly any fish and it felt like weāre eating spiced, fried batter.
The only thing Iād class as edible is the Kerala Chicken.
Never going back and I find it laughable that someone left them a review saying just their food was worth driving down from Brisbane for!!!
Save your money and...
