I am very perturbed with the kind of service provided by the staff at this place yesterday afternoon. To your response @owner of zambrero cessnock to the other gentlemen’s reviews, if due to social distancing the staff didn’t wipe our table, then he could have definitely said so and we could have stepped away from the table, but as matter of fact he said he would do it once he was free.. Later when he was free, he cleaned all other tables but ours, and if this was due to social distancing then why did he not say it in first place then as we could have stepped away from the table for him to wipe (as simple as that). You would appreciate that no one likes to eat food on already dirty tables.. But that’s not all, and it even more disturbed us when I told other female staff (later) at your store the same thing, i.e. the other staff cleaned all other tables but not just our’s on purpose and just kept staring at us rudely to everyone on our table, this lady staff just walked on me without even a response.. This is extremely rude and seems to be a decision made by them that none of the staff will clean our table come what may.. Anyone would agree that this has got nothing to do with covid, I mean come on, we all are grown ups to understand things, so let’s not blame it on that..
Also note that we’ve paid in full for the food that we had there yesterday and nothing was taken free out there for you to do a favour on us and provide us this kind of customer experience.. Your treatment should be fair and equal to all without any precursors in mind, which obviously wasn’t the case when it came to us.. I would only suggest your staff to practice, whatever they do with the customers, openly with all daring and guts, and not maintain such double standards when it comes to responding to such comments.. We have got nothing to hide with several people around to witness this incident..
I just hope that these posts give your staff some learnings about maintaining atleast a minimal customer decency in future without such precursors in mind about specific people in particular, as this kind of behaviour is less than trivial in today’s times and infact very cheap (even than the food we got yesterday), but goes a long way to hurt people’s sentiments.. Hope you...
Read moreGiving 1 star as I don't know how to give below that. Visited on Sat, Sun, Monday. Saturdays experience was very good so visited on Sun. White rice was over and no one bothered of that which is still considerable. Visited on Monday lunch. We were group of 7-8 ppl so pulled a couple chairs. The guy with a pierced nose almost shouted to put them back for no reason. When we showed the dirty tables to be cleaned everyone deliberately ignored and he had the audacity to clean other tables except ours. No one cleaned it till we had our food and then he started cleaning the door handles when we went out. Did not want to create a scene as we were just visiting for once. Pure racist behaviour. Never faced this before
Thanks for the response by the owner. I would have not posted the comments if I had the slightest of a doubt before putting it through. If you are defending the actions by naming covid as an excuse, then do these rules apply to all the customers? As we could not see the staff cleaning door handles and staring at other guests. If you say they could only clean the tables once they are empty, then why was the table dirty when we grabbed it on the first place? They could have just told us in plain English and we would have understood but they chose to stare us and so on. Other customers will choose to ignore the comments if they have a different experience. But if you are asking me to remove my comments which is my perspective which either is right or wrong. So I am keeping them as it is as I am not at all agreeing to your...
Read moreThis was the most disappointing burrito experience we have ever had, and we typically have very low standards when we're as hungry as we were tonight.
The meat all looked like unrecognisable brown mush scooped from various plastic bags, but I stayed hopeful that it would taste better than it looked. Sadly, the cat-food-esque appearance carried over to the flavour; it tasted like a mix of cat-food or some kind of cheap canned meat, blended up with TVP (a processed protein derived from soy that resembles cardboard in taste). Tastewise I could detect no lamb in the lamb & no pork in the pork, and when we finished our meal I said I would eat my hat if those "meats" weren't severely propped up with processed soy. We couldn't find an ingredient list, but sure enough all of the meats listed soy as an allergen.
The rest of the toppings were very bland and just seemed to act as a tasteless vehicle for the meat mush, taking on that same unamusing cat-food flavour (one that even the cheese couldn't salvage). *The exception was the refried beans: this was actually really yum and I only wish there had been more of it. If we ever eat here again by some great calamity, I'll see if I can order just a large serving of the beans and some black rice.
Sorry Zambrero, I love mexican flavours and especially burritos, I really wanted to enjoy this meal. Mexican food should be anything but bland, I hope things change in future because Australia needs some good burrito spots. All the best on your long journey...
