3 start motel level facilities, dangerous electrics with a nice view at an extremely high price. House keeping staff were extremely rude upon arrival and didn't want us to put our bags in a room they were not using. Refused to even make eye contact? Aircon didn't work for the first two days in the upstairs bedrooms so the kids woke up dehydrated, hot and tired everyday. Spa in master ensuite doesn't work. Electrical socket in kids room is exposed and smashed out of the wall (dangerous!!!) TVs in upstairs bedrooms have no remotes and therefore cannot be used. Wifi is slow, practically non existent downstairs. Lights in master bathroom toilet are on a timer, very sensitive and cannot be turned on/off manually without resetting the timer (you will be in the dark on the loo within a minute or two but it'll turn on if you walk anywhere near the bathroom) All the upstairs lights are controlled from a central point in a dumb location, enjoying walking down the really steep stairs (not child friendly or safe) in the dark. Beds are poor quality, spongey and uncomfortable. Bedding from Kmart and it is just layers of flat sheets that bunch up. No doona cover, again Kmart quilt (anko) The 'King size' beds are two singles pushed together, fine but the quality is really poor and they can move. Not enough kitchen supplies for all guests. Random plate/bowl/utensil numbers. Knives are extremely blunt and again, Kmart quality. Couldn't cut fruit. Provided comforts are limited. Chamomile tea and green tea only (4 in total) and motel quality coffee sachets, no milk on arrival. Coffee machine supplied, no pods. Salt, no pepper. Two mugs for a multiple person apartment. Nothing else included. "Parents retreat" looks like it should have a mini kitchen but there is just an old kettle in a cupboard near a fold out couch. Buggy charging point gives electrical crackling noise, pretty sure one half is broken. Key socket for buggy is loose and comes out sometimes when you take the key out. Outside bbq on balcony has a broken burner. Outdoor lounge set is missing pieces so not everyone can use the breakfast bar at once. This was almost $7,000 for 6 days in the wet season.... Do not stay here, the view is nice but the whole island has that. This is not what you would expect for the price tag or how the place is advertised. Spending your time having to chase repairs... Not really what you want at the best of times, least of all when you've paid a small fortune for a "relaxing" holiday. Host didn't seem particularly interested, replies in his own time... and wanted us to wait around for them to look at the buggy instead of enjoying the holiday. Tries to get sympathy from you by talking about how much they've already worked on the issues in the past but that isn't my problem? Asked us to contact their management company instead of them (who are not always on the island but the contact is polite and he actually responds unlike the host) but I had to find the number myself will before the host offered it days later from the first complaint. Honestly, I'm not confident that any of these issues will be resolved and they have already impacted our "once in a lifetime" holiday. Extremely disappointed and furious about the electrical issues. The kids could have been electrocuted from the exposed sockets in the bedroom. This is a run down apartment that appears nice in photos but is dodgey in reality. Really poor workmanship throughout.
Do not stay here. If you check the reviews, these issues seem to be a...
Read moreJust thought I would post a review my family of 4 stayed in edge appartment 21, stayed in early may 2024 for 7 days , I could not find any previous reviews on appartment 21. It’s right at the end of all the appartments in a group of 4, 21 is on the top which was very quiet & had great views from balcony “see photos”, the appartment is almost brand new & had everything you need for cooking in house even toasted sandwich maker, BBQ, oven & microwave, clothes dryer, washing machine all new, it’s like it has never been rented before. Rooms are great no issues. Has its own wifi but my phones 4g connection was good. The pool is great, all the pools around the island are great. It’s located at the end of front st on the marina side about 500 meters along a private road. If you are into walking you can walk to the marina, but it’s up and down. I’m a runner so didn’t bother me but the cart is the best way to get around “ which comes with the property”. If you have more than 4 people I would suggest another cart. The IGA is large just the same as IGA’s on the mainland , have the same specials, a few thing a bit more pricey but not over the top, the bottle shop is to the front of the IGA, beer and wine about $5-$10 more than the main land. Other things, ask for a buggy with the clear rain pull down covers as it rains a lot on and off & if you dont have the clear covers you get very wet. The buggy’s are all speed limited around the island so easy to drive but go slow now same for everyone. For a family I would recommend as when it rains there is plenty of room in the appartment...
Read moreThe views are amazing and the apartment is well appointed however it wasn't as clean as we would have expected. The shuttle transfer was late and the apartment wasn't ready for us until well after 3. Some of the facilities felt a little mean...not enough rubbish bags or loo roll and no easy way to get replacements. The checkout experience was a real let down and really took the edge of the holiday experience. Checkout is at 10 but we were told we would be picked up at 9 for a 1030 ferry. We tried to cancel the transfer and make our own way to keep things a bit more relaxed for the kids as we had a full day of travel agead of us but had staff turn up and try to basically throw us out at 9, then a call from a manager who didn't even know our name and cleaning staff literally on the doorstep the whole time making us really uncomfortable. Really disappointing end to our trip. Lower your service expectations and take a spare loo roll...
