I booked the Autumn family package $299.00 for my husband birthday. It was one night in a deluxe family suite, INC - breaky vouchers, 2a 2k upon arrival and kids free dinner when parents order 2 MAINS.
The room was possibly the worst room at the siesta. It had a view of a rock. There was nothing deluxe about it. Dinner was booked out therefore we could not even utilise the kids eating free voucher, a part of our package we had paid for. We sat around the pool, every spot we sat in someone was smoking next to us (outside of the designated area). My husband went and reported it to reception as there is only one designated smoking area and people were smoking around the whole pool area. The receptionist said she would do something. Nothing was done. There was a group of bikies (20 in total) whom had booked that same night. They sat around the pool drinking excessively, smoking and swearing. It was anything but a family friendly venue. My husband the next morning gave feedback to reception. They said Greg would call. He left a message and my husband rang him back. He said he was disappointed to hear about our experience. My husband asked for a refund or the opportunity to have another night there, where perhaps we could actually enjoy it without people drinking, smoking and swearing near us. He said if we stayed there again he would look after us. What does that even mean? It was truly such a bad experience. I had been coming there since I was a little girl with my whole extended family at Christmas time. We would just about book the cantina out for dinner, there was so many of us. Such great memories. I’m so disappointed in what it has become. It is a bogan hangout!!! Beware of their packages! $300 for a terrible room, not family friendly and not being able to use the vouchers in the...
Read moreI have stayed at the Siesta a few times, most recently 2 weeks ago on the Vic labor day long weekend. Each time we have stayed in the delux king suite. Really lovely spacious rooms, with coffee tea, toaster but no plates. Balcony had not been swept properly and cigarette ash was all over the floor and swept into the corners. It was pretty gross !! But room was very clean. Property could do with some sort of poolside food and beverage service! They have a lovely cantina around the pool but its only open for breakfast ! So many families I spoke to would have used a F&B service had it been available.. including us!! Not enough sun lounges around the pool. Big families holidaying together would leave their towels on them overnight so as to secure them for the next day in their group! UNFAIR!! We went out at 6.30am to lay our belongings on a few chairs and the manager came and moved them off, accusing us of leaving them there overnight!! When we advised him we had only put them there in the morning and it was indeed the larger groups of 20 people who were the offenders and pointed out to him which chairs they were, he totally ignored that and left their towels on their 10+chairs that they wanted!! Favouritism to the larger groups !! Was so unimpressed by his behaviour! Seems there is different rules depending on how much $$$ you're spending! The girls on reception are nice enough but seem totally under the pump and always rush you off the phone. I have called many times and this is always the case. They should take the time to answer questions properly and not rush customers. It's not a good look! Despite this feedback we enjoy the Siesta mainly because of the pool and hope just they give some attention to the points I have...
Read moreLocation is within a semi industrial/ residential area. About a 5 minute drive to the centre of town.
Room was nice, clean and presentable. Cleaning staff very friendly and cleaned our rooms every day.
For breakfast, we chose the continental buffet. The breakfast had some nice selections and very fulfilling.
For dinner, we made a reservation at the Bullring restaurant. We waited 2 hours for the food to be on the table. By that stage, the kids got grumpy and all fell asleep. The table next to us walked out. I guess they lost their patience. When I asked the manager what was going on, his excuse was "we are busy" and no apology was given. He didn't seem too happy when I said to him that I could only see that half of the restaurant was full . Waiters excuse was that the chef that they've had for 10 years walked out on them that day. I appreciated the waiters honesty and this helped with the situation. When the food was eventually served, it was delicious and well presented.
There's a BBQ facility where families would use, some families even brought takeaway or pizza to eat in the same area.
Most facilities were nice. Pool could use a very good clean, water was not clear and cloudy.
Front of house staff were unwelcoming, emotionless and arrogant. Some constructive criticism for The Jones Group management: A greeting or smile from staff to the guests would make it a much more pleasant stay. And please don't lie to guests, it doesn't give the place a good image.
In conclusion, the kids had a lot of fun and we made the best of what we had. Hopefully you can take the criticism and improve...
