Read moreThe hotel has a beautiful facade, gardens and pool area. However, the rooms are so basic in fit out. The bathroom light/fan switch was external to the door meaning you had to wake other occupants to use in the night. The bedside power points were behind the bed head, requiring us to manually shift the bed each time. The bed was a queen size only, which in 2025 is absurd (upgrade to a king like every other modern hotel for the price). There was no cutlery other than a teaspoon, meaning we were unable to eat any form of snacks/light meals etc. This was especially frustrating as there is no room service for drinks or food. The night we were unwell and wanted to eat simple salads from the supermarket and asked for cutlery to be sent to the room, we were provided with one wooden fork. Absolutely no attempt to be accommodating. The car parking is across the road, open air with no coverage which is absurd in Mildura with heat 40 degrees. With paid additional for a balcony, however, it was enclosed with fly mesh which was dirt ridden and dead flies were all throughout. The air conditioner was dated and was not fit for purpose with regard to the room size (a greater kilowatt system is needed within Mildura weather). The front of house staff were disinterested and always seemed occupied. Overall, it was a frustrating stay for six nights. We are actually Mildura locals who are seeking to return and were to look at houses, however, the hotel in its current form is a blight on the town. It could be a real landmark but has been ârenovatedâ with disdain for its history and customers. I will not stay again and will not recommend the hotel to anyone...
The Grand Hotel Mildura has 3 quality levels of accommodation, Standard, Quality & Superior. I booked the Quality (mid range) twin room (room 14) which has more space & consisted of a queen & single bed.||The room is an all one colour grey tone being the walls & cupboards which appeared to be painted over. The carpet was charcoal. The room lacked contrast and it appeared to be missing nice touches.||To my disappointment & surprise there was no armchairs considering the available space. If you wanted to sit & watch tv or relax & chat with drinks, it's either you sit on the dated scratched 2 dining chairs with the table or you sit on the bed.||The other thing I wish to point out is the bathroom which has a dated laminex vanity from the 80s, like seriously it's 2025 that vanity needs a major update, you'll notice in the pic the side has a laminex chipped off.||When you're paying $570 for 3 nights in Mildura, you expect the room to be of better standard. I spoke with reception about a lack of armchairs and they did bring up 1 old pleather armchair, and I confirmed whether my room is the Quality room as the dining chairs & table were scratched & dated, & bathroom vanity is 80s and they said I was in the correct room.||Furthermore, the bed was not comfortable and not a pillow-top mattress, it seemed either it was a cheap quality mattress or it was an old mattress that it's springs have deteriorated, as their was a lack of support. The mattress needs to be replaced.||Most of the hotel was nice, with a manicured garden with an original heritage fountain. |I heard the better rooms are the ones facing the garden which are the...
Read moreI arrived here at 11.30 last night - room 66
Just want to go to bed and sleep but a junky from a room close to mine was keep screaming and being loud and noisy. I was feeling uncomfortable and scared but I heard from my room twice someone coming, knocking the door of the junky and tell that âwe received complaint about you being noisyâ. This morning when I asked the receptionist to change room and they said people around me checked out already, and I asked the manager what happen and to move me they said ânothing happened last night - there were no complaints apparently madeâ There was nothing on their record apparently. Asked for a refund and they refused too. Clearly you can see from my face that Iâm a person that didnât sleep last night. I canât have invented all of this.
My bad, I should have called the reception too and complaint too during the nite, but since I heard someone telling âwe receive complaintâ I thought it was someone from the hotel. At least twice. Coming up, knocking the door and telling to stop.
Apparently Iâve invented or dream about it. I couldnât believe it I walked out of the hotel. As they make me feel like Iâve invented things, I came back in a I was going to cancel my reservation but they wonât let me do it as there is a cancellation fee .
Very bad customer service and lack of care. Wonât be back here anymore after this trip. Absolutely disgusted by the way...
