Mudgee's Getaway Cottages — Hotel in Mudgee

What an amazing place! We live in the Central West and have been to Mudgee many times before - somehow we only just found this gem.

This place is a godsend for families with young kids. Our 2.5 year old was beyond thrilled with the animals, the gardens, and the play areas. Hours of fun for the entire family, and easy walking distance to the CBD. The Orchard Cottage had everything we needed. It was clean and spacious for our family.

Elizabeth and her team are so easy to get on with. She is beyond accomodating and takes the time to really connect with her guests. Elizabeth has truly thought of everything, and her attention to detail in looking after her guests is incredible.

I think some people may look over this place when they see that you need to call or email them about dates and pricing. Do not be shy - pick up the phone and give them a call. It is so worth your while, and you will not be disappointed!

We have stayed here twice - 13 years apart and would go again tomorrow if life permitted! ... Elizabeth has been a great contact point and manager both times we stayed. And to call these 'cottages' is an understatement as they are pretty much home-size accomm options - and well furnished, decorated, and with all the utensils and facilities one could ever expect ... and kept very clean and well maintained.

The broader grounds are amazing and anyone with kids will have a ball exploring the grounds, the golf, the animals and the herb/vege gardens. Being able to sit and cuddle a rabbit - or 2 - was something even our late-teenage sons enjoyed (coming from Qld especially where rabbits are not allowed!)

Location is great with an easy walk into and back from the centre of town.

Definitely worth it when visiting Mudgee and the surrounding area ... which needs another review of its own as it is a great place to base and explore a wonderful part...

We so enjoyed our stay at Getaway Cottages celebrating my sister-in-law's 70th birthday. There were 13 of us and we spread ourselves in the Bloome and the Farmhouse cottages. Both cottages were wonderful but the Farmhouse was our gathering point with absolutely everything we needed for our celebrations. We had 2 children with us aged 9 and 6 years and they had a absolute blast exploring the grounds, the animals and the bikes etc. They played all day and into the night with NO DEVICES! Our 6 year old has asked if we can return again when she has her next birthday. None of us wanted our weekend to finish. Thank you so much to Elizabeth and staff who were so easy to deal with and nothing seemed to be a problem no matter how many questions we asked. We will definitely be return guests in the near future....
