Located at 12 Martin Place, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 A wonderful place for the family to come to help celebrate the Christmas 🎄 season. This is the tallest Christmas 🎄 tree in New South Wales and has over 800 dressed with over 15,000 flowers representing Australian natives eg Banksia, Waratah, Bottlebrush, Wattle, Kangaroo Paw, Eucalyptus Gum Flower, Flannel Flower, Pink Wax Flower and White Wax Flower. The lights are lit every day during the Christmas Season from 8.00pm to 1.00am. It’s also FREE. It’s not hard to get to by public transport as the Martin Place train station is very close by or you can get the light rail to Wynyard which is also very close by. On the weekends, the Martin Place Christmas Markets are on also which is definitely worth a visit. You can get your photo taken with Santa at the nearby Santa’s House. You have to book online to get your allocation, don’t just turn up expecting to get a photo, it’s constantly booked out. The cost starts from $29.95 and goes up. It’s open every day from 9.00am until 10.00pm from 24th November until 24th December. I would definitely recommend a visit here for the family. A Big Thumbs Up...

Sydney’s Martin Place Christmas Tree – A Festive Must-See in the City

If you’re in Sydney during the holiday season, you have to check out the Christmas tree at Martin Place. I went just after sunset and honestly, it felt like I’d stepped right into a holiday movie.

This tree isn’t just any tree — it’s 24 meters tall, absolutely glowing with over 100,000 twinkling lights, shiny baubles in every color, and a massive star on top that changes colors. Every 15 minutes there’s a little light and music show, and the whole square lights up with that magical, Christmassy feeling.

What I loved most was the vibe — people singing carols, kids dancing around, couples taking selfies under the lights. It felt so joyful and cozy, even in the middle of the bustling CBD. Plus, if you time it right, there are Christmas markets nearby too — perfect for grabbing a hot chocolate or picking up a cute handmade gift.

Whether you’re visiting Sydney or live here and just want to feel festive, Martin Place is a must. Come for the tree, stay for the...

Amazing experience in Martin Place! Christmas tree was fabulous and brought a nice Christmas spirit into the atmosphere. Looked extra good against the post office clock tower, London-esque. We went a couple times to see the tree because it’s close to the train station so saw it at sunset and the night. Was busy but not annoyingly so on 15th December. Wish they’d do trees like this in Brisbane...

Same Old Same old Ha ha ha Although the Christmas tree brings me joy every year, there is no innovation in building it. I would love to see new ideas for this Christmas tree gig. The place gets a lot more crowded with tourists on weekends. Getting a good photo is very difficult. They should mark designated photo areas.
