l couldn't have picked a better place . This motel is in an excellent location, only about 2 mins walk to the bus stop, and a weekly tix costing only $5 is a great deal. The motel was clean, large room; water pressure was very good in the shower, spacious bathroom, and safety was good for a solo woman traveller, also safe if u have a car , being locked away for the night. Having said that, the area is very safe as Cairns in general. Air con great.. Staff were great, many shops at the DFO, 2 mins walk away and restaurants very close by. The bus stop is at DFO, its only a few stops from Cairns central ( 5, l think ) but only 3 km so easy to get around... I would definitely stay again also recommend to anyone travelling there.

Bugs in the room. Biting ants in the room. Mold in the bathroom. Noisy airco. Not properly cleaned bed-sheets, damp spots on the sofa. Room photos shown are computer edited to make the rooms look far far more modern than they actually are. The biting ants in the room/bed were considered normal by the staff. The only reservation in over 200 bookings where I actually left early without staying a single night. Room was charged for one out of five nights. The receptionist was nice and understanding and offered a different room, which was basically no better and had the same ants problem.

The best hotel EVER. The boss is super kind and generous. She tried really hard to give us everything that we need and help us. She sincerely treated us and I definitely will come back again. The room was clean and cozy. You can also borrow a dryer if needed. The pool was cool and the location is also good as well. Choosing here was the best decision during my stay in Cairns. Thanks for all. All the best.

I booked in to stay 6 nights, barely made it through the 1st and then left at 5am on the second night. The first night was very noisy with noise coming from multiple rooms. The next morning I called reception asking to cancel as I'd not had any sleep and had a road trip then work the next day. They advised I would have to contact the booking agency for a refund. The receptionist was very understanding and said if I had further problems I could call them and they would sort it out as they don't tolerate noise between 8pm to 8am. I thought, ok I will try again. On the second night in addition to the room above me stomping around until around 4am there was also a group of ppl drinking and yelling across above the laundry. Both nights there was running, stomping, slamming of doors and vehicles coming and going. I called reception as they advised. No answer. I called the after hours number. No answer. I texted them. No response. I called the booking agency and told them how awful it was, but advised them that the receptionist had told me I could get a refund if I contact the booking agency who would then contact them. The booking agency attempted to call the motel who finally answered them. Shortly after I looked outside to see that 6 police officers had arrived at the motel to escort ppl off the premises. I packed my bags, dropped off my key and headed off to work. I checked on my refund and the booking agency advised me that the motel were refusing a refund because they claimed there was no problem at their motel that night and nobody else complained. This despite multiple police showing up and a text from the night duty manager advising the police had removed the problem people. Yet they claimed there had been no problem. Even though 6 police were required. They also attempted to say it was only that 1 room and the problem people had now been removed (even though they contradicted themselves saying there had not been a disturbance). I advised both nights involved multiple rooms including the room above me that never sleep and are up all hours stomping around, scraping chairs and slamming doors. THEY TOLD ME THAT WAS THEIR RECEPTIONIST! The manager flat out refused to refund me trying to say it was on the basis that there was no actual disturbance as I was the only one with a problem. I said, "OK I will come collect my key" to which she immediately replied, "OK you can have a refund"..... In other words.... THEY HAD ALREADY LET OUT MY ROOM TO SOMEBODY ELSE AND THEN WERE TRYING TO DOUBLE DIP, RIP ME OFF AND CHARGE SOMEBODY ELSE ON TOP OF MY PAYMENT. Double-dipping LIARS. Despite their questionable ethics the rooms were large and reasonably clean although there were 2 leaks in the bathroom meaning the floor was constantly wet. Approximately 20% of their patrons were trash and the remainder were decent humans just trying their best to get a good nights sleep. I would not have rated them so low if they had not flat out LIED to me and tried to rip me off. If you do have any problems after hours do not expect to get any help from them. It was awful and one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Be sceptical of positive reviews as they offer a 10% discount for positive reviews and apparently some ppl will do anything and tolerate anything to...

DO NOT STAY HERE! We unfortunately didn’t read the reviews before staying here the past two nights. The place looked great from the outside until we got to our room. The room looks nothing like the pictures we saw. The floor was super dirty, it was clear the grout in the tiles had never been cleaned especially around the toilet. The aircon didn’t work. The toilet would flush for around 2 minutes and had a 50% chance of actually getting rid of the toilet paper. The bed and pillows were horrible. There were groups of teens drinking outside of our room in the car park for most of the night. There was an old man who went around yelling late at night. There was a rules list that said we needed to wash, dry and put away our own dishes to not get a $55 fee but they didn’t provide us with a sponge, dish soap, a dish towel or even a kitchen sink so the people staying before us would have washed our dishes with water in the bathroom and dried them with their dirty towel. The tv was too big (30inch) for where it had to sit so it was angled directly at the bathroom door so you couldn’t watch it while sitting on the couch or the bed. The bed was on really good wheels so any ‘activity’ would have resulting in us driving around the room lol The only good thing about this motel is the lady at reception was extremely nice when she checked us in. Reception was only open from 9-11am and 2-6pm though which made it impossible to make a noise complaint even though they told us they take noise complaints very seriously. It was clear we were the only guests and everyone else was in...

DO NOT STAY HERE! Zero stars! Negative stars! Emergency housing, not a hotel. Worms in the pool. Totally unusable. Holes in the walls. Broken tiles. Drugs being used by the emergency housing residents. Smoke constantly coming in through the huge gap in the door frame. Cops constantly there taking people away. People knocking on our door begging for money. Manager didn't care at all. Said put the chain on. But not safe to leave any valuables in the room. Not safe leaving the room knowing the residents are watching you leave and that your room is fully unattended. Very UNSAFE atmosphere. Did NOT feel safe leaving my bags in the office while waiting for airport transfers. Didn't trust the staff at all. Rough neighbourhood. 2 minute walk to DFO, but be back before dark! Threatened by locals. Lovely Thai restaurant next door, the owner gasped and laughed when we told him we were staying next door. He even said it wasn't safe. No food or Bar available. Function space looked like it hadn't been used in years. Everything was old and broken. Dirty birdcages on the upstairs landing. Dirty linen. No bath mat or face washer. Someone came in and pulled up the beds and took away the towel on the floor (using as a bath mat) but didn't replace the towel or clean anything. Rooms so old and dirty, NOTHING like the photos. The manager constantly lied and told us different stories about why the place was so dirty and why there were holes in the walls and doors missing. Manager's huge filthy dog running in and out of rooms. DO...
