Ski in Ski out Hotel Unterellmau — Hotel in Saalbach-Hinterglemm

Absolutely loved our stay here. Thank you to Gerhard and all his staff for your warm and skilled hospitality. The hotel itself is warm and inviting. It is exceptionally clean. The location is excellent as you can ski in and ski out but it's not in the heart of the action (apres ski noise etc). You can also drive to Saalbach which is not far away. Lots of skischules are close too. The views are absolutely perfect. Really you are in an Austrian dreamland. Perhaps the best thing about the hotel is the food. Every dinner you receive a varied salad bar, a different soup each night to warm you up, a delicious main with perfectly cooked meat or a yummy vegetarian option and of course they don't forget the dessert.... breakfast is a full on buffet with milk from Gerhard's cows... we enjoyed the food so very much. Very friendly traditional hotel. Excellent location to lifts just a small walk to town. Breakfast excellent. Rooms very nice and clean if a little bit small and could do with more storage/wardrobe space. Breakfast very good with plenty of choice. Dinner was very disappointing: whilst there was plenty of food and lots of meat for the main course but the cooking was bland and the meat tasted all the same, really could have done with appropriately matched sauces for the meat which was very dry (some type of tomatoe sauce to go with duck !!,, no!). But other than that everyone was very friendly and Gerhard tried his best! Could do with a kettle in room to make tea/coffee but we brought our own in...

I stayed at Unterellmau between the 5th and 12th Feb 2022 with a group of 15 friends for a ski holiday. We had a wonderful time. The hotel was perfect for us. Breakfast was buffet style and there was lots of food. Dinner was a buffet salad and then excellent main and a desert every night. The sauna was excellent, very clean and huge! The hotel is ski-in ski-out but a little difficult to navigate after heavy snow. We were able to use the lounge area after dinner for games and chatting. The hotel owner and restaurant staff even helped us decorate the dining area for a birthday celebration, and made an absolutely delicious birthday cake.
