Art Club Hotel — Hotel in Baku City

If you plan to make a trip to Baku, then u MUST STAY at THE ART CLUB HOUSE. You will be blown away by the hospitality, uniqueness and amazing food spread. Located in the old city, u can be in the midst of culture, history and yet modern look. The team out there are extraordinary and you should see my videos which is a just a jist of a lot more that u can get in that hotel. The head of the hotel himself gave his time to share about uniqueness of the hotel and i will not reveal his name but would want u to meet him by showing my video snippet. I can write 2-3 pages on this hotel but i will strongly recommend you book and explore. Breakfast spread s amazing and very very tasty. Rooms are cozy and u get all amenities. Thanks to @pearls travel agency who helped us to book this great boutique hotel.

Somehow we paid equivalent of $200/night for a room here. On the plus side rooms were clean, the architecture was impressive and the staff were helpful - nothing here reflects on them. On entering the room there was a perfume which appeared to be masking another smell - it became clear there was a pervasive sewage smell in the room later in our stay. It was late so I needed a shower after a day of travelling but there was no hot water. The next morning at breakfast I was told that there was a charge for a second cup of coffee. (That said one of the staff gave me a complimentary extra “just this once”). Note also there is no elevator so our room on the 3rd floor meant lots of exercise - ok for us but not for everyone. The rooftop terrace is not open - there is nothing up there, no restaurant or bar or guard rails - and we had to persuade them to let us up to see the view. When trying to go to sleep the bed had ants and what appears to be bed bugs crawling all over it. I have video evidence. I pulled the sheets off and the mattress was stained with blood. Front staff came to my room and I spoke to the manager on the phone who hung up on me. 20mins later I went back to front staff and the manager was on the phone to front staff expecting me to stay. I moved hotels. Art club said they had no money for my taxi and wanted me to pay for my room to which I refused. Two days later I was offered a free airport ride home to make up for it, they never showed, ignored my telephone calls before eventually advising the driver would be 45mins late and was in traffic. I have a screenshot showing the traffic was fine. I then had to organise a taxi at midnight to make my flight. The hotel is a disgrace as is their customer service. Do not stay in this...
