Metropolitan Hotel Bahrain — Hotel in Bahrain Island

Booked the hotel for the weekend. Very friendly staff, but they keep your passport until you check out - I did not like that very much. Nightclub F1 is located on the ground floor and there is an arabic disco on the 1st floor. This keeps you awake until 2 am every night. Music was very loud inside the room, even on the 3d floor. Moving a few floors higher is not an option, there is another nightlcub on the 6th (top) floor.||The hotel is also located on an intersection of a busy road and the Saudi and Bahraini drivers are very impatient people and are honking the horn of their car all night long. You litterally hear the sound of a car horn every second through the bad insulated outside walls. This was driving me crazy.||There is also no gym and the matrass felt like sleeping on concrete - very very hard.||Was over-tired after the weekend. Never again.||The room was OK, the bathroom was not the cleanest and looked old and outdated.||F1 club on the ground floor was OK, Phillipino band playing OK covers. The club had many Chinese and Thai prostitutes, but they leave you alone and only come to you when you show...

This has to be the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. The room itself was ok until nightfall. Then it is noise, noise , noise all the way. The bar staff keep serving drinks to people who can hardly stand up as they are so drunk. The walls must be made of paper, you can hear EVERYTHING. The bar is NOT for couples!! The thumping noise from the nightclub and the sound of car horns is ridiculous. I was on 3rd floor but wish it was 3rd floor somewhere else.The bar is more expensive than other 4/5 start hotels in the area. I visit Bahrain every 3 weeks and will stay well clear of this hotel...

Clean enough, huge "Junior Suite" rooms and now that all the bars/ disco has been closed down in the hotel (heard this was something to do with the elections??) very quiet. This may be the reason for the lack of "ladies of the night" as reported elsewhere by other reviewers. ||Good central location if like us you were escaping for the weekend from KSA, very handy for surrounding bars etc, will definately use again for future Bahrain trips.||The free airport transport was also punctual, driver stood arrivals holding namecards when we arrived. Found all hotel staff polite...
