If you're craving the most mouthwatering and flavorful chicken shawarma in Bahrain, look no further than Iskenderun (spelled Eskandroon on Talabat). I had the pleasure of having their chicken shawarma for 18 months, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish.

From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, the inviting aroma of freshly grilled chicken and fragrant spices wafted through the air, instantly whetting my appetite. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and a friendly demeanor, adding to the overall positive impression of the place. At times, calling me “boss” over my friend who introduced me to this place was just the icing on the cake… that’s for you, schawarma boss…

The tender and succulent chicken pieces were expertly seasoned with a blend of traditional Middle Eastern spices, creating a symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds. The best Turkish Restaurant in Manama. The star of the restaurant will be the Lamb Chops ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(our own opinion) It is so soft, juicy and tasty. We never had a lamb chops like this before and were keep coming back for this.

We had Iskanderun Kebab Halebi, Lahmacun, Mixed Mezza, Shawarma, Lamb Chops, Shawarma with Yogurt (beef), Aryan and Turkish Bread. The price is reasonable and the serving is good. The staff are nice and the place have space to fill in family, friends, workmates for their lunch and dinner. The restaurant have limited parking space at front but fortunately there is a big vacant lot next to the restaurant where you can surely find a parking space. The restaurant opens from 11am until 2am.

Pro tip, place your order ahead before coming in especially when you are hungry and have limited time. Once you reach they will serve it...

I like the hummous and kebab halebi; it is the only restaurant serving a good kebab halebi in Bahrain that I have tried. Decent baked bread is available fresh. However, chefs at Iskenderun cannot prepare pide correctly; they just think it is a larger laham ajeen; yet, even as laham ajeen, it disapoints: scarce amount of mince meat that is dried out and partially burned with edges of ajeen burned. Moreover, shawarma is too salty; I do not recommend it. Good service. Waiters and the cooking team try their best but coming from South Asia, the personnel are oblivious to a cuisine that is alien to them. Iskanderun ought to employ a Turkish chef or someone at least skilled in preparation of Turkish food. Moreover, the place can use a sprucing up.
