I have checked out just yesterday so you definitely can take this review as the current condition of the hotel. We have been there for my husband's official tour on an official pre-booking agreement. There are several points I want to mention:
After reaching, we went for breakfast in their restaurant 'The Saffron'. There were a few more persons when we entered the restaurant. We requested for the AC, but they didn't even care to tell us (or even look at us) why they didn't turn it on. Later on, when we asked the waiter sitting on the manager's seat, he just behaved way too rough and almost shouted with us. His opinion without even hearing our issue properly was: 'Why should I turn the AC on for only you two?' I mean wow, what a logic. We just wanted to make him understand that he could explain to us politely after we requested to turn the AC on. He is so poor-behaved and bad-mouthed man, don't know what he is doing in a 3-star hotel restaurant. Again, the food quality was not too good either. May be this is why we have seen very very few people entering the restaurant.
The sheets and pillow-covers were unchanged since the last visitor. There were smell of some female hair oil on the pillow covers and the sheet was filthy which proves that it wasn't changed after the last visitor was gone and before handing the room to us. We had to request them to change those.
The washroom fittings are vulnerable. The hot shower tape was loose and fell down on the very 1st attempt of starting it.
They knock on the visitors' doors loudly without saying anything after 10pm to handover breakfast coupons. Yes, there are phones in the rooms but they don't care to call and inform the visitors that they are sending someone to the rooms for delivering the breakfast coupons.
The room is full of mosquitoes.
Oh, they don't have any housekeeping or cleaning service throughout your stay in Hill Tower. The room is just the same as you left it (while going out) until you checkout. I don't know how they claim themselves as a 3-star hotel.
The only good thing throughout the whole time of our stay was a boy who helped us carry our luggage to main road till we got any transport. That was really nice of him.
As many other reviewers have already mentioned the road in front of the hotel, I am not explaining anything about that here. I can only say that the road is in the same condition till date.
I have been to many average hotels since my childhood. It's not that I am used to the luxury of 5-star hotels or anything. But obviously you can sense the difference even between the regular/average hotels, right? This was one of my worst experiences while touring-- both of us, in fact. Anyways, hope this review helps you choosing your stay in Cox's Bazar. Thanks for...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with family. We booked our rooms through phone call and paid advance through bKash.
Room number 308 had damp on the walls. The furnitures were old. The TV was not functioning (The remote was broken). The sockets were in terrible condition. The room did not look like the one that they sent pictures of through WhatsApp. We requested to change the room but they informed us that all rooms were booked, which is unbelievable considering the fact that we stayed there during working days. I asked to provided fresh towel at night and I was informed that they will give it in the morning. This was not done.
The bathrooms were relatively clean and the food at the restaurant was good. They had geyser in functional condition.
Overall, it was not a good experience for me and my family. So, I do not...
