Garden Residents Uttara - Lake View — Hotel in Dhaka Metropolitan

Booked this online and paid as i like to get payments out of the way. Been to Bangladesh many times an I know in Bangladesh there's always businesses trying to rip you off. I emailed them the flight number, arrival date and time hoping they would pick me up as they advertise free airport shuttle. They did not turn up. Luckily I had other friends that were accompanying me in Bangladesh and they made them come as they were there for company and security. They did not read my email at all. I'm from sylhet and regularly travel on business but Dhaka I do not trust as it feels everyone's out to make a buck on you, people are so fake. I stayed 4 nights and the management would not smile or say hi. The other staff were OK and friendly but you can't help but think they just do it for a tip. There inclusive buffet breakfast is bog standard. Restaurant small. Security guards never smile and they all seem sooo miserable. I think management where secretly annoyed because I paid online and they didn't like it. Maybe they couldn't over charge or take a cut but who knows, they were so bad in customer service. I checked out in the evening but they had a cheek to call my Bangladeshi friend and try and charge an extra nights fee because I left in the evening. Ridiculous as it was all said the night before to their unpleasant night manager also as I checked in very late on the first night. What did they expect me to do. Hang about on the streets from midday to 6 in the evening. Some good points, bed sheets changed every day. Room swept and moped. Safe location away from the city...

Being my first time in Bangladesh, it was one of the best holidays I've ever had. The friendly and helpful staff made my stay extra special. They also organised a surprise birthday cake for me at my beautiful wife's request which was so nice. The staff is very good and go out of their way to help you, whether it's for cleaning the room, spraying for mosquitoes or asking for room service.
