We liked this guest house, a lot. It is in the historic centre and close to many tourist sites. When on holiday we prefer to stay in locally owned hotels rather than the big chains, and this hotel reinforced our decision. On arrival we greeted by Carmen, the owner, a lovely and charming woman. She carried our bags to our room on the second floor, despite our protestations to try and help her. My partner stayed in our room, but I had a cigarette with her in her charming garden. I felt I was talking to an old friend whom I had not met for many years. My husband also thought she was very charming, and liked her very much.||We stayed in the Isiah Room on the second floor. Both the room and bathroom were large, but watch your head on some of the beams. The bed was king sized with pleasant good linen. We felt the design of the room was fun, and it was very clean. Wi-Fi was fast, and the TV had many channels in different languages. When we stayed, Leuven was experiencing high temperatures, our room was hot but a fan is provided which helped. One tip, when in the bathroom, draw the window curtains.||My partner enjoyed his breakfast, with plenty of local ingredients to choose from.||On leaving we were given a hug by Carmen. If we are ever in Leuven we will come back, I suggest you need to forget the chain hotels...
Read moreThis is a very cozy hotel right in the center of Leuven. It's not on a main street, so it's really very quiet and one can rest really well at night. The owner of the hotel, Carmen, takes excellent care of the guests, giving a warm welcome as well as many sightseeing tips in the city. She runs the reception, prepares the breakfast, takes care of cleaning, etc, which gives the hotel a very familiar atmosphere. I think one of the highlights of the hotel is the garden! On a nice day one could have breakfast there, or just spend the morning reading a book. An interesting fact is that this used to be the house of the Priest of the Church in front of it (Sint-Michielskerk), and the decoration of the hotel reflects this. (For example, the rooms in the hotel don't have numbers, but are instead named after angels.) ||||I've stayed here more than once and all my stays have been wonderful. I often visit Leuven for work, and next time I do I will no doubt...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed in one of the guest rooms on the top floor. We were pleasantly surprised, the room was even nicer than the pictures online. It was very large, yet cozy, and it had a very huge updated bathroom. Watch your head though! Some of the ceiling beams in the bathroom are hard to maneuver around. The location was amazing. It was right in the heart of the city, and a close walk to everything. The breakfast was good with a lot of different options. The only negative that I can think of, was that there was limited parking. All the parking spaces were taken by other guests when we arrived, so we had to park about 500 meters away for around 17 Euro for a night. Also, there wasn't a fridge in the room either, not a big deal, but just a convenient thing to have to...
